So I’m here to share my favorite Anduin build, hoping to get some new ideas from others.
As Anduin (and as someone who plays in QM a lot) I almost always go for sustain because the hero himself is already strong in single target healing but lacks dealing with drawn-out fights, which is usually what happens in most cases. Let me know what your builds are, if you’re in the habit of going for something different and why. So here goes.
My first talent is always Evenhanded blessings.
I want to make a strong case for this talent, because I was surprised icyveins found it situational. Majority of the time, you’re going to alternate your Q on different targets in any game, so this is already so much value. Plus you can set it up in preparation for the bonus heal on your tank as they’d need all the help they can get once they initiate. This also fixes a lot of Anduin’s mana problems for constant use of W. Powerword shield is great, but it’s worse for sustain, I’m finding myself picking Evenhand more often these days. Divine star is one big mana drainer so you’re going to have some mana troubles if you want to always pick W build and be close to your team with a lot of bathroom fountain breaks. Evenhanded ensures you will have none of that, and gives you more time on the battlefield than W build.
Level 4 talent to me will mostly be piercing light.
Again… dubbed as situational by icyveins. W build is just so overrated. Use your Anduins for kills, people. I just don’t see how divine star apex attack has more value than this come on.
My level 7 talent pick is Binding heal for synergy with Evenhand.
This provides more long term value than the other self heal talent. But I cannot deny desperate prayer despite its long cooldown.
This is when I usually choose one over the other according to how much burst is against us. But for the most part, it is Binding heal, because desperate prayer provides no synergy and leaves me vulnerable to boot. I don’t personally like it. The 2 seconds matter a lot in a fight, and I could have theoretically popped off another Q with evenhand bonus during that time while still dodging skill shots.
Level 10 talent is obvious to everyone so need I mention it? In QM salvation is sometimes the best choice but it’s mostly lightbomb that sees play.
Level 13 I’m looking at Enchanted Boots or Push forward, but it’s usually
Sustain on anduin turns him into jack of all trades where he can both do instant healing in front line and heal over time for dps in backline. I choose Enchanted boots instead if I have diver/s on the team.
Level 16 is where things get tricky for me and I am often torn between Renew
and Inner focus which is way more fun
My favorite talent on Anduin is inner focus. I am biased.
Again I always pick talents to synergize with Evenhand and in this case, both synergize well with it. It ups inner focus’s bonus to 40% for when you need instant gratifying heals on allies. This is my personal desperate prayer. It has less cooldown than the real one too.
Glyph of faith also really nice especially if you picked Enchanted Boots. Not as fun as inner focus but sometimes you must sacrifice what you love if you have divers. Or just people with bad positioning. Sad.
Ah level 20, the final frontier. I am in between Censure and Varian’s Legacy. Probably the only time I go parallel with the popular W build.
I think that, again, it really matters on whether you went for Push forward or Enchanted boots. Since I mostly go for Push forward, my pick here is Varian’s legacy to build up on the basic attacks.
Feel free to criticize my choices, nothing is set in stone, but this is the build I find giving the most value to Anduin and his team. I think that W build is the situational one rather than the other way around.
