That’s okay because it buffed heroes that suffer from CC, instead of tweaking heroes. Its just a bandaid when you need a tourniquet. If CC is becoming an issue and the devs want to draw the game away from the CC meta, then the heroes need to change.
The medallion isn’t going to fix the issue they see with CC. What they needed to do is add more cleanses in healer/support kits so that they can do a good job in saving their allies. Anduin and Whitemane and good examples of this. They both have multiple cleanses. Anduin has his trait, which at level 20 he can have 2 charges of, as well as an ult which also at level 20 has the best cleanse possible. Whitemane has a talent at level 7 and an ult at level 20 that is a really good cleanse also. They each have choices to cleanse their allies in some way and I feel like that’s the reason healers exists, to save their allies. And their cleanses come at a cost because they have to choose between other talents.
All healers should have some sort of cleanse instead of giving it to each hero individually. Giving each individual hero an unstoppable (not cleanse) means their limits are extended further without any drawbacks. Zeratul can stay in the fight longer causing chaos to squishes and there’s nothing they can do because now (if he times it right, which a lot of good Zeratul players will because generally they’re good at timing when to leave so why would they not be good at timing unstoppable?) he can negate any attempted CC that comes his way, which used to be a counter to him. He’s slippery as he currently is, and now every 5 mins he has a (preventative) get out of jail for free card without the need of a healer to be there.
Or, they could reduce the amount of CC heroes have, and also reducing hypermobility so that people don’t feel helpless when a Zeratul or Tracer can jump the backline with no fear of getting stunned or peeled off. However this would be boring and lower the skill ceiling of a lot of heroes, making the game very bland.
