Whats the right settings for a auto attack hero

Im always rapidly clicking on the terain where I want to go and the target I want to fire at.
But what are the best settings?

What you mean by settings?

I think he means stutterstep technique? Not sure

Are you looking for specific setting? Can tell later.

Otherwise, this discussion always derails the dumbest way so cba “which one is better”. The one that works for you.

No the settings, if you autoattack if standing still.
And the best hold fire button. I now have it on H. But thats a bit unpractical.

And I am wondering how many high league valla players. Pull of they land so many shots always at heroes. But in a rapid paste.

(This comment is unfinished, my pocked accidently pressed on post. Will finish it when I have more time)

i have hold fire on spacebar! SamiSha told me about that and it’s actually awesome!

You can set auto-attack to be Quick Cast, so you don’t have to be clicking everywhere so much.

I stutter step with every hero in the game, AA assassins, mages, healers, tanks, etc. Stutter stepping is really important for every character because it makes you reposition and makes it harder for the enemy team to land something on you.

I have the auto attack button on A and it hits the closest target to my hero. It’s also on quick cast, so as soon as I press A it starts attacking. I mostly stutter step with A + right click to move, especially in the laning phase where you just want to hit the minions. When I want to hit specific targets, if they are not the closest to me I just right click them to attack and right click terrain to move and keep doing that. I’m really good at stutter stepping in both ways and I highly recommend everyone to practice it, even if you have auto attack to target the closest to your cursor.

My hold fire button is on S.

My 1 hotkey is actually on F. So the active abilities are actually F 2 3 4. Because I have my finger on A most of the time, not having an ability on 1 actually helps a lot. My 1 is to use items like turrets.

Options --> Gameplay --> Attack move target point

You will attack the closest target where you clicked

That’s why I hate that they made one of Tassadars talents into his baseline auto attack (the beam).

With his old normal autos it increased his kill potential and skill cap, because you could stutter step and poke enemies or chase them to death.

Okay I wanted to finish my questions. But looks like everyone who did a few extras already filled it in!
Thank you so much :star_struck:

I think you have it combined with if you press spacebar the screen centers around you?

yeah that’s what it does

I don’t really have any settings for stutter stepping with AA heroes except lucio and tracer since moving in and of itself causes you to stop attacking anyway.

I have a cancel hot key for tracer and lucio so I don’t attack while a genji reflect is up or into alarak’s guard.

I mostly do right click and A with attack near cursor.
But hilariously enough it is Lili that forces me to do it the other way.
Because at times alternating between Q and A with perfect timing is just harder for me than holding Q and rapidly moving the mouse for terrain/target clicks.
Though usually I don’t hold Q with her.

Because I play Genji, I got used to stutter step while using Q between AAs. Now it is really natural to me. I guess everything is possible with practice.

Lili attacks 25% faster and Healing Brew has 1/3 the cooldown of Shuriken, less with trait. In fact the trait is partly what makes the timing so weird.
It’s a bit harder I think. XP

Sometimes I play Lili just for fun and I don’t have any difficulty tbh. I also stutter step with right clicking the target + right clicking terrain to move, so it also helps when you need to Q really fast sometimes.

I actually have to play and try to pay attention to what I am doing. When I play I just do all that without even noticing D:
