What Valla build is best?

I have always thought going Q build was best for Valla, good burst, damage, saves on mana can get camps quickly with lvl 1. And with lvl 13 you can have good self sustain with it.
But it seems every other Valla I play with goes Hatred build, in a world of blinds, any decent comp having CC of any kind seems to stop an AA Valla.
Is there a time to go Hatred build and a time to go Hungering Arrow build, I don’t know, sometimes I just don’t see it.

Also why would anybody go strafe with Valla over Rain of Vengeance? Seems I see strafe Valla’s way to often than I should.

Q build and multi shot build with auriel.
People play strafe because they can’t land rain of vengeance.

Q build with strafe if you can’t stay in the fight for long at a time. This is a sort of mage build.
AA build with rain of vengeance if it’s reasonable.

Basically choose between “hit-and-run mage” with strafe or AA build. double Q and then strafe can do real good damage from a distance and is way more safe, but AA build will do (much) more damage over time. Especially once you reach level 16 and 20.

Let’s say that you are against something like 1 tank, a mage, a specialist(azmo or whatever) and a genji+healer. You wont be able to AA as much as you’d like to and might have a difficult time to even get 10 vengeance stacks before you are near death and have to retreat. In this case, Q build.

Q build is also more bursty.

Don’t go Strafe when you go AA build. While strafing you aren’t AA’ing, which is where your damage comes from as AA build. Rain of Vengeance enables AA’ing; stunning heroes who get close while you AA, also buying a little time to create some distance to continue AA’ing from a safer range.

Cute. Insulting a great number of people for no reason, while barely answering OP. Why? Trying to play the tough guy?

This is a piece of truth though, i am woodleaguer and people at that level and below pick this because they don’t have to aim.
And this is the smart choice.
Now convince me that 2 charges of CC are inferior to strafe when you can land them.
Because I will consider that i hit the bullseye until you do so.

the one where you pick raynor instead

Always Q build these days. AA build hasn’t been considered viable ever on current Valla and it has only gotten worse with more dive and mobility given to rest of roster. Not sure why you would pick Valla in the first place tho, she is one of worst AA heroes in the game nowadays.

Q build normally

W build if you like dying and also waveclear

AA build if you really hate yourself

The best valla build is probably picking raynor though.

Q build is an excellent generalist build, and can be tinkered with thanks to your level 1 talents. Although it does somewhat hinder her ability to deal damage in situtions with a lot of targets (Samuro, Anub’arak, Azmodan), or with slippery high-range enemies like Tracer, Hanzo, Li-ming.

W can actually deal a ton of damage when your hatred is stacked up, and since it casts instantly it’s really good for chunking people who have small health pools but high evasive capabilities. Plus it clears out summons nicely.

AA build is good for carrying, but you’ll NEED a support and tank for it to have any chance of working. Make sure you consider Gloom at 13 for an AA carry build, because you’ll get focused and your health bar is as dense as about 3 sheets of tissue paper.

I never said it was inferior, did I? Did you only read my post from the point where I quoted you?

They’re both good and both has their role. But mindlessly taking one of them without considering the pros and cons of both is woodleague stuff indeed.

You can just continue believing you hit the bullseye if you want, I don’t really wish to go indepth to explain to a stubborn rude person.

All four: Q, W, AA, Hybrid.

-AA build for point control maps vs multiple warriors, or on say dragon shire if you can lane against a rexxar, chen, blaze.
-Multishot build for infernal shrines and vs melee-heavy comps.
-Q build as the all purpose build in all other situations.

Strafe is excellent for games where you are under-supported and find it difficult to consistently get into AA range. It is also great against highly mobile heroes that need to be shut down (Tracer, Genji, Zeratul).

Rain is best if you have more team coordination, and / or have a better frontline to provide you more space in teamfights. It is also ideal for enemy abilities that must be interrupted (like mosh, stay awhile).

If not the danger of ganks (mixed with her squishiness) AA build Valla would completely decimate current meta solo laners. Cant touch me minigame is so funny.

you go Q build when enemy has no tanks only squishies and play as a flanking assassin.

you go auto-atk build when enemy has 1+ tanks and you play as old-school adc. you are very weak early but godlike at lvl 16/20+. not recommended on maps which require strong early game.

you can also still go W build, can be strong in maps with big 5v5 emphasis, its very safe build, but weak vs tanks.

you go rain of vengeance if ur team needs hard CC.
you go strafe if ur team has CC, needs more AoE dmg, and there isn’t a hard-counter on enemy team. it does good dmg if not interrupted.

all builds are good and viable in various situations, there isn’t really a “best” build. ADC build is prolly the hardest to pull off tho, if ur not used to tht playstyle. but it is very strong late game if you have good mechanics.

Guided arrow with strafe is a good all round build if your team is a fail comp since it can be used to deal poke damage and avoid taking hits. If your team is a support build and enemy lacks blind then auto attack can be pretty insane.

Personally I think Multishot is the better build if your team can peel for you. Then Hungering Arrow (especially on a map like Battlefied of Eternity – Q build will shred the Immortal).

Multishot + Strafe is good against comps that have poor multi-target healing or can easily shrug off CC while diving you. RoV is, more often than not, the better choice but Strafe definitely has its place.

Haven’t played Valla in a long while but I’ll tell you what I know:

Q build for single target burst - good against squishy mages and great for shredding Immortals to their deaths. Make sure you’ve practiced enough to hit targets with Q because if you can’t land most of your Qs, rippu.

W build for fast waveclear - good in Tomb, Cursed, Infernal, BBay, and GoT imo. I go for this build most of the time ’ v ’

AA build against heavy frontline (ex. double tank, tank+bruiser) - downside of this build is Blinds. The good side is hearing Creed of The Hunter’s ping ping quest stacks.

Strafe is generally a safe pick since it’s ranged AoE poke and can hit multiple enemies at once. Can also be used as a finisher when enemy team is super low. The upgrade of the ult isn’t bad, too. The downside to this is that Stuns/Sleep/Silence cancels it immediately.

Rain of Vengeance for CC and when your team has heavy (and good) frontline. Works great when your team is coordinated and can interrupt channeled abilities.

Since she has fairly low health compared to most Assassins, practice stutterstepping. Don’t spam your abilities too much just because its off cd since her abilities are mana-heavy. Try to keep your Hatred stacks up aka hit whatever is in range (walls, Mercs, Minions and Heroes) BUT don’t overextend just to get max stacks. Don’t waste your Vault, better off you use it as an escape tool rather than engaging.

And also, always have fun!

Well, firstly Valla’s Builds are usually flexible as to where they go, although not all are the same direction, you’re right about Q build being ‘quite good’ for Valla because it saves rather mana and you can get camps.

Q Build, is Valla’s versatile and safer build to manage due to the fact it’s ranged and it deals a ton of burst to a single target and if you’re getting attacked, the healing it grants is partial enough to get you to retreat to a safer distance.

W Build, is Valla’s more of an AOE and distance-based build where if you need to damage multiple Heroes at once or Healers who can just pressurized your single target damage from Q build, although this build isn’t used that much due to ehm, its requirements, it’s still an 'okay build.

AA Build, is Valla’s sort of ‘carry’ build, if she has the Support and Front-line she needs, she’s capable of dealing tremendous damage to Tanks and Assassins and could even be capable of outdamaging the Healer, although this comes with the cost of being always at their faces, even if you have Tanks or Supports, Valla’s general health is the one that holds her back from being too powerful, but other than that, Blinds are also problematic for her AA build.

Ultimate Choices, are not exactly dependent if you’re good with it or not, I still pick Rain of Vengeance over Strafe in any build I go due to the fact it helps self peeling for my self, even if I have Vault, it’s generally more of a peel tool than a damage tool, or even a combo ability for Q build, as for Strafe, it’s a good ultimate if you have some pesky trouble like Genji or Tracer who can dodge your abilities, or if you want to deal damage from a safe distance.
