So I’ve been trying to invite someone that I’ve previously played with but I didn’t friend them and when I try to view their profile I get an error that says “Player does not have a profile in your realm.” Does anyone have an idea of what this means and if you can solve this problem? Thank you
usually means the server they play on : us, eu, asia, ptr, etc
My Swedish buddy and I (a filthy Canadian) are unable to play together as such because his account is on the EU realm, and I’m in NA.
Can always make an account one way or the other but you might experience a bit of lag so doing.
The thing that I don’t understand is that I played about six rounds with him on NA servers but I had to leave the party to restart my computer and forgot to friend him so I can’t find him active in any chat and that “not active in realm” thing shows up when I try to view his profile. Any thoughts?
That’s a pretty bizarre one actually. Either you switched realms somehow, he renamed his account, you have the wrong name (or battletag), or else it’s entirely possible something like you being muted happened or something.
You should be able to see him in a list of suggested friends with whom you have partied or played with recently and if that doesn’t work, I’m gonna say fire off a ticket to Blizz with your account, his, and the question of what’s going on (though I might insist that if it was an action on his behalf then that is explanation enough to move on, maybe he blocked you or something equally dramatic).
I could also just be a bug. Sometimes when I try to view the profile of players on my friends list, it will give me that same error. It usually fixes itself in a couple of hours or days.
It doesn’t mean the player is on another server. It’s a random bug like MnM said.
Sometimes the server wont retrieve the profile of someone on your friend list unless they’re logged in.
The bug is especially common if the player is offline or in the battle.net client, but not in the game itself.
That bug has existed ever since the game came out.
Another bug that surfaced this year is that a player you recently added to your friends list shows up as offline, even though you’re playing a match in the same party together.
Only after relogging in they will show up on your friend list.
And my recent pet peeve: The rank previews in Ranked show your teammate with 0 wins and 0,0% win ratio, even though they have hundreds of ranked games played this season.
