I’ve been thinking, what if Winnie the Pooh was an actual hero in game. Of course this would never happen I am sure you are asking yourself if I have completely lost my mind.
Well thankfully both of those things are true but I always saw Winnie the Pooh as an unofficial Blizzard character. Given that he does have a very wired history with Blizzard. He appears at Blizzcon and people actually associate him with Blizzard.
So for lolz how would he be as a hero? What would his role and kit look like?
The biggest issue is that blizzard’s superiors in china will ban the game instantly. And that includes all of their other products!
Lets say for some magical reason this is allowed there. They also have to deal with bunch of disney DMCA or whatever.

Winnie the pooh is in Shanghai Disneyland, he even has a ride
Winnie the Pooh as a blaze skin.
The oil becomes honey and the fire is bees. Ok. So really just a beekeeper blaze skin.

They didn’t ban Winnie the Pooh everywhere.
They banned comparisons of Xi Xinping to Winnie the Pooh, most notably online.
What is this weird history you speak of? This is the first time I am hearing it… Also, I am fairly certain any mention of the Pooh causes great alarm for China’s ruling party, and would thus cause Blizzard trouble.
Pooh
Role: Support/Healer
Disrupts enemies while healing allies.
Q: Honey glob
Pooh tosses a glob of honey at a designated area, enemies in the area suffer a 35% slow and allies in the area are healed.
W: Think think think
Channel for 1.5 seconds to gain 30% spell power and restore a portion of total health to pooh.
E: Turn the page back
Pooh restores a portion of HP to a target ally based on how much health they lost recently.
R1: Honeypot
Pooh gains a massive shield and 25% armor for a duration, smashing the honeypot or when the ult ends, the pot breaks releasing honey globs that heal allies and slow enemies.
R2: Bees? BEES!
Pooh breaks a beehive near his location and tosses it. Enemies in the area take continuous chip damage and are feared after 2 seconds of standing in the bees. After the ult ends, pooh can walk over the hive for a cooldown reduction on Bees and gains a portion of mana and health back, based on damage done to enemy heroes.

Winnie is used as an anti Xi Jingping meme and figure in chinese social media mocking him. They even banned bear emojis a few years ago for that reason on Weibo (same as twitter in the west).

Let’s just say this would be a pretty bad business move from Blizzard.
You can even get banned for saying Winnie the Pooh on chinese Overwatch servers.

All I can think of is Disney having strong words to Blizzard.
Pls make him the first sustain tank. Eats ton of honey to regain hp but a wimp and doesn’t hurt people much. Not much mobility either
And the bunker should be Winnie’s house.
Pretty much at Blizzcon people dress up as Winnie the Pooh to protest Blizzard. Which funny enough makes him one of the most cosplayed characters. Blizzard even started banning people who dress up like him during events.

Well people will have to dress as Batman now.
Did China ban him too? What does he represent?
We already have Teddy Bear Stitches.

If only he was yellow and wore a red shirt

Stitches is trash. I wouldn’t mind winnie the pooh but highly doubt he’d appear here.
In an ideal world we could have lots of “off brand” heroes. I remember (I think it was Myself, not “Myself”, but Myself) when Orphea was introduced as her name sounded close to “Oprah” we came up with a whole kit for Oprah if she was a Nexus hero.
The Mods deleted that discussion!
