What if her openers, instead of being point and click, teleported her a certain distance in the given direction then caused her to dash back towards her previous location, stopping if she hits a hero?
It would be a skillcap increase, let her use her openers in more interesting ways, and provide clear counterplay (stay out of range or very close to her so she can’t open on you easily). It also doesn’t increase her mobility that much, since it can’t be used as an escape unless an enemy hero positions in such a way that it is one.
I really like this idea. If valeera lost her point and click she might be able to get buffed more. Does anyone else agree with this idea of changing her openers like that?

You complain about wormhole and propose something similar baseline for valeera.
Okay…

how is that remotely similar to wormhole? It literally just makes her openers harder to use. She doesnt control when she dashes back. She teleports, then quickly back to her previous position without being able to use any abilities unless a hero is hit or she reaches her previous spot
I mean wouldn’t that just be point and click opener from afar and go back to your location if you miss?
I may have not understood what you propose correctly but if it is correct that is exactly like you’d use wormhole offensively.

it is more like seeker in the dark (except valeera does not have a blink to escape again).
Wormhole is an engage with a “nope” button if you dont like how things are going. This is an engage that puts you a set distance away, forces you to start moving towards your previous position. If you hit someone, the opener’s effect triggers on them and valeera stops moving (similarly to how she stops with sinister strike when she hits someone)
Er…this is wormhole…if you want seeker in the dark gameplay it would be throw something and open if hit or dash forward and open if hit both with no dash back.
This would be an unecessary nerf unless she gets steroided somewhere else which sure would please the common QM folks.
The point is it would open her up to future buffs by raising her skill floor.
I think reviewing her talent tree should be a more logical step before doing something like that.

She needs a rework, the problem with Valeera is that she doesn’t counter what she should.
She should be countering ranged assassins…both marksmen and mages, as well as supports and healers, but should have a hard time against tanks, bruisers, and other melee assassins.
It is the opposite right now, because she can be kited outside of using her teleport or knocked out of stealth, but against tanks, melee assassins, and bruisers she can burst them down too well. She is killing heroes like Varian and Artanis or Samuro and Kerrigan, but not Jaina and Raynor.
Devs gotta be careful though…she is one buff away from OP, just like Illidan could be.
i think her talent tree isnt too bad for the most part. you have the AA/Silence build and the Q (dash) build. the one that i feel is lacking is her W build which is basically almost non-existant.
