What has happened to General chat?

Never been this concerned for the game since it released.
I’m seeing 2 players active in general chat. It’s usually never below 100-150.

Every now and then, some spammers spamming bad stuff pop in, sometimes racist comments and such but overall it’s just a social aspect of the game that is fun to use. chilling with different players for better or worse and just having a chill time.

The only “harmful” thing i could see it doing is people spam reporting for an opinion and causing uncalled for silences/suspensions because the system is automatically punishing players.

I agree. General chat is a nice feature ruined by some people.

I like zone chat in ESO. Its just wonderful.

EU got two players who keep spamming Gchat every night with racist stuff while queing up to aram and tower feed whole game. They always comes out of a game with 0,1 kda and they dont care who report them.

They have done that since october last year. Imagine being that bored with your life that you do that kind of stuff for that long.

Gen chat rolls to a new channel after one channel hits 181 users.

After that you can leave/rejoin the General Chat channel to find the second Gen chat which will have 1-30 users.
(It will auto-assign you to the 180 users channel if it drops below 181, if it has 181, you will go on the lower population channel)

During the peak of HotS you could have three different Gen chats at once easily.
Now it’s kind of rare to see a single maxed out 181.

I saw like 170 in general chat last time I played. So I’m not sure its completely gone.

When I’m online there are 150-180 online in chat. But you only see the kids/trolls that talk in that chat.

All I care is that the Chogall channel is still available. I don’t care what happens to the other ones, specially if they’re filled with spam, propaganda and other crap, and there’s no one moderating.
