Most of us are here because we enjoy this game and play it, however, as we all know, it can get frustrating at times and though you’re not done gaming, you are done playing this game, at least for a while.
What are your go-to games when you need a break?
I have 2-3 depending how I’m feeling at the time. If I’m feeling lazy, I prefer a game with a controller. Caveblazers is pretty fun. However it can be frustrating too. Right now I’m diving back into Stellaris again. Super fun game, with really neat visuals. Being able to zoom in real close and rotate the camera around my fleet hovering over a star, or even just zoom in on a planet or star and see it up close, is super cool.
when I took my couple of months not playing HotS, in part my return was delayed due to playing Civ6: Rise and Fall.
Even now, I tend to play that game over HotS, just depending if I want to deal with queues.
Path of Exile mostly. I also play Guild wars 2.
Stellaris is a great game too. I just don’t like the DLC model from paradox. You end up paying 250$ at some point to play the most recent version of the games. It’s shame because I would love to play Europa Universalis and Crusader King, but I don’t want to spend more money for a few new features.
I switch to a different hobby.
TF2, Smash Ultimate, Civ 5
Caveblazers was a fun game but i prefer more classic turn-based approach to roguelikes. Such as tales of maj’eyal, adom, rogue tale, sword of the stars the pit, dungeonmans, wazhack etc waiting for stone shard. I am really a fanatic of roguelikes and turn based tactics. If you liked caveblazers you can check out rampage knights and lost castle, is more beat em up with grinding than platformer though. I’m lately mostly playing Crusader Kings II outside of Hots too is still a lot of fun even without many dlcs.
btw for online play only host need to own dlcs.
I’ve been playing LoL in my spare time.
Gotta say it’s pretty fun especially when you play with friends. The only down side is that I truly liked HOTS better. Sadly HOTS took a turn for the worst and just ended up being less fun.
HOTS had the potential to be the better game…Hell it had the chance to be the better MOBA, but that’s another rant for another day.
I generally play WoW or this really old game called “go outside”. It hasn’t been updated in years, but the graphics are amazing.

Yugioh, rubik’s cube, starcraft and of course smash ultimate… if i have one!
It is the opposite for me actually I play HotS when I don’t have any other games in my backlog for the console. Currently since I took advantage of the year end sale I do have some games I am playing, about to finish Hollow Knight: Void Heart for the PS4.

Player’sUnknow Battlegrounds mobile…and.more.mobile like Forces.of.Freedom ,some.RPG but i.quit it…mosly BUG mobile…and.wait more new.not released…
I switch to vs AI if the HL games start to get on my nerves.
But Kerbal Space program pretty much, sometimes i like to remind me of my mistakes and what a bad game really looks like and i start up DayZ.
I am currently playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2, but I don’t consider that “Taking a break from HotS” as much as “I got a new game for Christmas, and I am playing it a lot”.
I still play Minecraft, Stardew Valley, somewhat a hat in time but that game is becoming stale because I can’t find any cool workshop content.
I usually play one of these 3 when I have to experience terrible teammates who have no idea what to do to the point I’m always top of the chart for some reason.

… that might be why everyone gets mad at me when I try to soak for level 30…

Battle Brothers, Xcom 2, Slay the Spire, Rimworld and Civ V.
It’s still in open beta. The base game is f2p, but the cash shop can be brutal, depending on which encounters you want to play.
