What changes would you like to see in Probius, so you'd play it?

So it’s reasonable to lower the skill floor, and balance it afterwards, if necessary?

Man, if less than a years worth of time since some hefty changes is a “refusal to touch a hero” then you clearly missed the bandwagon on all the other heroes that are like covid-levels of infectiously bad cuz lotta heroes have gone longer than the probe without some reasonable change.

The changes it got increased its power level, but did nothing about the convenience of playing it.

The problem is lowering the skill floor in a manner that doesn’t make him busted is hard.

And I mean actually busted, not Tooton busted.

Giving “unbreakable” time for his mount means better players can truly make plays that would otherwise be risky.

And multiple charges of his trait would allow easy setups that can crush people and allow pylon overcharge to reposition super easily.

Something that bad Probius players will not do. Or rather, the changes will benefit the better Probius players MORE than the worse ones.

I think sadly if the hero is to become more popular (not being picked much is indeed fine, but .5% popularity is a bit lower than any hero should have IMO) a redesign/rework is required.

If dev team proves me wrong, awesome!

The changes it got are more than you are claiming and are effectively caught up in revealing your lies.

it’s not that it hasn’t gotten changes, it’s that it hasn’t been the changes you request. So you lie to yourself, blame others for it, and then try to delude others accordingly for this farce.

When people act like that, it shouldn’t be a small wonder that their requests aren’t taken to heart. And even then, you’d have a personal hand from a blue talking about the integration process, and apparently learned nothing from it.

But apparently lying to yourself about this sort of stuff is far more “convenient” for you than not.

Oh, please, mighty one! Tell me, what’s Probius’ popularity?
Do you truly think that what it got is sufficient?

The probe needs a rework and a redesign.

  • his popularity is low
  • his talent tree is meh
  • he has poor qol mechanics like high CD on his pylons and a cannon which he can’t aim.
  • he’s too difficult to play optimally apparently.

His most effective way to play is constantly dancing around opening up rifts beneath ppl and blowing them up like a mage? This little worker robot who collects minerals? Surely this was not how he was intended?

He should be remade into a support/specialist hero who excels at defending buildings and points on the map whilst providing buffs and utility to team mates via pylons.

  • gives team mates shields
  • teleports them around the map.
  • pylons can be made invisible
  • etc

In the legacy of the void cinematic where the Protoss fight the Zerg which involves probius he isn’t involved in direct combat at any point and that makes sense cause he’s just a little weak non combat unit, but he does do one small critical thing which saves the Protoss.

He summons the pylon which warps in the clutch reinforcements.

Remember the spirit of that scene blizzard when you remake him.

Don’t you want 10 charges for his trait?

Not all heroes are supposed to be competitive and not all heroes has to be the same, some heroes are just for fun.

Probius is a situational hero and with a good team and with great skills you can a do a lot of things with him. These days everyone is asking for a hero rework just because they are bad and can’t play that hero which is marked as “HARD” or “VERY HARD”. There are reasons why their difficulty is Hard or Very Hard. First of all you must understand the hero, his abilities and know how to make a build that depends of what enemies or teammates you have.

Let’s take it logical. Probius is a Protoss Probe from StarCraft. A Probe is a worker, that construct buildings. As a worker, don’t you think that is logical to be fragile? Let’s say that Probius was a Peon or a Peasant, and one of their weaknesses is that they are fragile, right?

And yes, it’s clearly that his popularity is low if the players don’t know how to play him. He is not boring at all, you just want from a hero like him too many things. Saying that devs refuse to do anything about Probius is truly pathetic. Same case for Hammer, she is also situational. But I suppose that there are no more great players in this game since there is no more eSport scene.

Speaking of strengths, Probius has strong area control and high burst damage. Isn’t that good?

Hey, Medivh is also considered a high skill floor hero. He has 5,61% popularity.
Alarak too. He’s sitting at 7,84%.
Or TLV - 8,31%
If you are saying that Probius is the ABSOLUTELY HARDEST HERO TO PLAY, and that’s why it’s at just 0,8% popularity, then IT OBVIOUSLY NEEEDS A REWORK.

No, players needs to learn how to play. As I said before, not all heroes has to be the same. Some heroes are more complex with abilities that makes a change in the game but requires a bit more skill. What you ask is that Probius to be a super easy hero, to press 3 buttons and get an insta kill.

These heroes that you mentioned can be also situational and are risky to play, but in the right hands these heroes can win the match.

So for the more than 3 years, during which Probius has been available as a hero, players couldn’t learn how to play it?
How long do you think it will take?

Have they played more than 100-200 Ranked matches since his release? I don’t think so.

And that is the problem - people refuse to play this hero the way it is now… which is why I’m asking people what changes do they think would make him more desirable, as well as telling my opinion on the matter.

I think that when people want something, they should do things more indicative of conveying change rather than try to essentially blackmail others with their projected emotional baggage.

Of the counts you have, that you begrudge the devs for not following, for “suggesting” probius get changes you have NOT made a topic that simply reads “Hey, I have some ideas that might help probius get more play”

When you do post it, its either in lying/clickbait topics like this one (that lies about your projection on the devs take, and then faulting them for your lies) or when people ask for advice on the hero, instead of offering said advise, you pretty much suggest the hero is a lost cause and has to be changed instead.

So in how you conduct yourself you are not honest in conveying what you actually want; you do not simplify the conversation to facilitate what you claim you are doing, and then you fault all other people with red herrings, non sequiturs and otherwise rely on crappy conversations that derail the direct issue by feigning you’re the victim of something or another.

One of the main issues with probius “popularity” you answered yourself long ago “He takes time to set up”

Casting lies about what the devs do, how you have suggested the hero have trait/escape changes and a few other things have not addressed some of the core concerns you act around, but rarely actually convey in the correct space.

So in this regard you are a terrible liar, but are still convinced by those particulars, and then blame any and everyone else for not magically reading between the lines of what you mean compared to what you do and then care to be in line with that conduct.

When you get over your self-delusion then Probius will magically become super popular because obviously there’s a direct correlation between how people complain, and the hero actually seeing changes.

For example: Hailfail vehemently requested valeera updates (even slight ones) and in what time frame in relation to their actions did Valeera see said changes?

Why don’t you discuss the current topic here, and if you want you can make another thread about how bad of a person I am?
I’ll be honest when I say I had simply forgotten about the “recent” Probius buffs when I wrote this thread.
But as I already said: Probius doesn’t need NUMBER BUFFS, but rather a change in the way it functions.
Sure, if they overpower it, it will start seeing more play, but it wouldn’t be healthy for the game.

The core issue Probius has is that everything good has several layers of delay. You can’t use Photon Cannons for burst, you have to wait for a Pylon to then wait for a cannon to warp in. You have to wait for your Warp Rift before you can wait for your Q to hit it to actually deal decent damage.

So you have to crack down insanely on your timing to just get his basic functions working, leaving very limited skill difference between useful floor and game-wrecking peak because once you get that timing down, there’s really not much else you need to care about.

My own thoughts have mostly centered on making Warp Rift just part of the structure warp-in process, then giving Probius a new, much larger, structure to be a substitute for the current Warp Rift. Thus the delay for CC is gone and the structure abilities aren’t doing nothing while you wait.

Change Probius to a Support.

This will be weird, but it’s an interesting idea. It already is kind of a support hero with the level 13 talents. Do you have any specific suggestions about what they can do to turn it into a support hero?

I am; the topic you created is about how devs won’t change something.

Trying to dissuade people from spreading false information is in topic. If you didn’t think so, then your title and Opening should be changed accordingly.

Otherwise, that is what you are broadingcasting your subject, topic, and concern to be. THAT is part of the issue of these backhanded topics where the OP pretends they created something other than what they did, and then fault people for the distinction they themselves ignored.

I don’t find he needs another Pylon charge, or lower cooldown on it.

I just put my first one back a bit more. You don’t need to always be in it.
My very first one is behind the gate, pretty near the fountain. And then my second one can be wherever. Sometimes I throw it down just to bait people into attacking it.

Wouldn’t mind the shields for health change, and I definitely think he should have the uninterruptible Z like TLV. He relies on it so much…to chase down kills.

But the main change I want to see is to his talents.
They encourage you to try to detonate Warp Rifts on enemies, which is fine if the enemy walks into them, but you shouldn’t be trying to throw them on the enemy heroes. If you’re doing that, just play Kael’Thas. It’s like people who ignite Blaze’s oil immediately, you’re missing out on a whole chunk of the ability’s function!
Use it for the slow. You can have 3 out at a time, that’s 3 near constant zones of 25% slow. That can really shape enemy movement for your team.
He can do considerable damage with Q, especially with Q build, which I say is the right build. Between Echo Pulse’s return and Particle Accelerator’s CDR, you almost never have to worry about being unable to detonate a rift because you shot it into enemies for damage. With a 3 second (or less) cooldown, you can be like Gul’Dan and basically use it as your normal attack.

I’d like to see changes to the rifts that does things while enemies are in the rift, or for each rift on the field.
At least Tower Defense was made more interesting.

Nope.
Q does decent damage, if you talent it.
I don’t know how/why anyone would ever go W build…
Q build is so fast.
Played this way, W and E are defensive zone control abilities that punish enemies who try to dive.
