I get cosmetic feature (looks and such) but the voice line, do the heroes say them due to certain circumstances or is only on command. Also do your allies/opponents hear it or only you?
These voice lines can be played whenever you want if you press the voice line command (Hotkey is: i) or open the wheel of communication (Hotkey: X, must keep pressing) and drag to the voice line area and then release to play them.

Voice lines are exist so I can spam “Nice try!” as Uther while I destroy Assassins 1v1.
Or “You are quite a scoundrel” as Deckard.

In that case, yes they can hear you as long as their camera nearby to your hero.

I miss when 2.0 launched and voice lines were hilariously buggy. I’ll never forget running around as Murky spamming “Ahh, fresh meat!”

I like how they got replaced by death screams, god I just love hearing “my brain” when whitemane dies on the other side of the map.
That is the most amusing death scream followed by Li-Ming’s.
OP the voice lines are there to annoy ally and foe alike, just take Brightwing and spam “Fight Time!” every 10 seconds and you will make friends fast!

Small note: Whitemane actually says “Mograine…” referencing Renault Mograine, who was a long time friend and was the first stage of the Scarlet Monastery fight. After killing Renault, Whitemane famously sleeps the whole party and Reses Mograine with “Arise my Champion!” (Another voice line in game) and the fight continues. Trivia!

Sure wish that was easy. I spam my Brightwing voice lines all the time. Instead of getting a friend request, I get somebody whispering me threats, especially if I did that kinda thing on Tracer

I would really like if someday they’ll rework Auriel and Sally, finally giving Ressurection to Whitemane!
It was her most iconic spell afterall.
Well I was being a bit sardonic, but spamming voice lines can get you a silence, so there is that!
Yeah, but it would most likely be seen as the lesser pick, like it is with Auriel. Also, what would be Auriel’s new heroic be? Which heroic would you dump in exchange for Res on WM? Things to think about…
I did get silenced once for using voice lines. Blizzard said I made the game “unfun” for others
