What are some trap talents people keep taking?

I hate it because Junkrat’s who already miss most of their Q’s use it because they’re the “fire and forget” type.

Idk triple taps really good for QM pubstomps when their teams mostly squishy with no iceblocks, which is pretty common.

The purpose of Boomerang isn’t to pick off targets. If you want Kill Secure, that’s what “Crippling Hammer” is for.

But let’s assume that Secret weapon does help kill a fleeing target. In that case. You have a talent that you get value of only in those cases where an enemy is fleeing, and the extra damage from secret weapon is what allows the kill, and you can stutter step to get all the hits.

It’s only about 100 more damage on a single target. But whenever you hit multiple targets with your Q on BOOMerang, your total damage is always higher. So in teamfights you consistently contribute more damage.

Then there’s the wave clear that you lose for the entire game, that Secret weapon cannot make up for.

Bro W build w/ never outmatched clowns on 2 tank frontlines.

Targeted excision is the biggest talent trap in the game imo; like, it’s the DEFINITION of a trap talent : it’s good in theory and it’s very attractive but it never pays off at the end of the day compared to the other talents on the same tier which are better 99% of the time.
However, I see tons of people pick this talent again and again waiting for that perfect teamfight scenario to happen and when it finally does happen, it’s not really worth the trouble when you think about it.
It’s THE trap talent for me

But it still can be block by teammate

It requires terrain to bounce off and can be blocked by minions. I wouldn’t count on it to shred 2-3 tanks/high HP heroes. AA speed from Redemption, sharpened arrow heads + giant killer on the other hand will force even Muradin to back off really fast.

But it has it’s own problems. It becomes worth it to dive Hanzo just to deprive him of his stacks.
Plus this build becomes weak if he dies. He is half a hero until he can build back to 12 stacks again.

With reactive ballistospheres and proper w usage I get a lot of usage out of it, it’s pretty good for upping your healing while keeping divers off you.

Some of the names here are surprising, least to say…

Is Whitemane’s stacking quest considered a trap talent? It’s not bad, just way outclassed.

you’re forgiven for going Triple Tap there since you got 4 kills after it! nice gif i thought it was a whole match for a second but was nice after all :3

I don’t believe they do, since To the Limit makes the beam go farther past the target, but at that longer range Feel the Heat would not be doing its extra damage.

It makes it wider as well, not just longer, so you actually hit more melee targets.

Definitely this. As you can no longer AA between each Q this actually both reduces your dps AND makes it harder to hit anyway. Stupid talent

All of these talents are amazing.

Absolutely essential for burst build and against butchers.

MUst pick for single target destruction.

Only good if going poison build, for AA build it´s speed+percent damage.

Self sustain is important, so verdict denied.

They are not, all the other options are just better.

Lol no. The poison build on lunara is OK, but not amazing and generally outclassed by other aoe/poke heroes.
By far the best build and usually the only reason to even pick lunara (highly mobile ming/tass killer + antitank):
natural perspective - siphoning toxin - wild vigor/choking pollen - leaping strike - let them wither - invigorating spores- boundless stride/galloping gait

Invigorating spores is way too strong for it’s own good and quite irreplaceable (what really blows my mind is that i’ve noticed a lot of ppl just don’t know it also gives % damage not just aa speed), so is siphoning toxin (roughly uther’s Q on cooldown on you all the time - again, insanely strong for a mere lvl4 talent)
All the other talents are the ones that best support them: lvl1 to not lose targets around bushes, lvl7 just extra burst damage, lvl10 the key burst damage/finisher (also heavy mobility boost and unstoppable frames (not taking leaping vs xul or chromie would be a game-losing mistake)), lvl13 major cc upgrade (and it really IS major; the baseline slow suffers greatly from the decay; spell shield only and only if really necessary) and lvl20 mobility.

P.S. Lunara most definitely has no trap talents, all of them are usable and you can even mix and match the talents however you want and you generally wont get a very weak combination.

P.P.S. My lunara is at 65% wr in diamond+ SL, I play the above build 90% of the time.

What are you even talking about dude?
I advise you to read again what I post and to what I replied.

Anduin’s Pursued by Grace. Heal on damage sounds great, but Anduin has a slow AA, it has to hit a hero, and heal range is much shorter than his Q or W.

It does synergy greatly with some other talents, but then, you are almost always better off taking Bold Strategy and get HoT on your Q along with PbG, because both Renew and PbG rewards mixing in as many AA as possible. Might as well make the max value out of it.
