Personally I would like to see an anomaly that replaces the walls next to turrets with “gates”, or at least makes them neutral, so “their team” can also destroy them if so they wish.
- Invulnerable fountains until gate + towers are destroyed (it works in aram, who knows how well it works in the regular game)
- Inverted keep damage scaling
- At level 1 +100% bonus keep damage
- bonus value reduces by 2% for each passed level, counting both teams (which means at around level 20 only 20% bonus damage for keeps).
- Forts remain unaffected. It hinders early game single lane pushes to the keep from becoming too powerfull. But at the late game makes a single lane push much easier (allows a better comeback)
- Soaking XP reduces fountain cooldown
And not realy as anomaly idea, but more of a potential map feature
- Mule camp. Similar to turrets allows you to spawn a mule.
- But this can be combined with a merc camp so after capture you can also pick up this mule (which could be the anomaly effect).
- And also could be used as medalion type anomaly, where soaking xp is used to grant the mule similar to how bribe can work
I’d want something to make soaking baseline with maybe more rewards. An idea was inspired when I was soaking as Illidan and always taking marksman. It made every globe valuable and worth getting and it makes soaking addicting and more fun each time because of the slight increase of AA damage. Maybe each globe gives an 0.2 stat increase on all stats for all heroes as a bonus for soaking. Solo laners will get the biggest benefit while tanks and healers would go mid to share the exp globes. This is the closest thing to like earning gold for stat upgrades for a carry hero, like a shop on League except not as overwhelming.
Another anomaly idea is talent-gating all spell abilities to be unlocked after the first 3 levels, that way players will soak immediately and not brawl mid every game.
A playerbase that shuts up and play without useless drama and focused on playing the best they can.
People who accept people failing if they did what they could.
that’s a cool idea. it would have to be a super mule for it to be worthwhile though, healing like 5x as much.
I feel like this should already be a thing normally if you ask me. What’s the point in them if any mage can just go around the side and take it down in the first 2 minutes.
I think making it after the towers would be better.
Allow for strategies that rely on getting wells to gain an advantage, but require there to be effort. I think keeping forts being linked to them would be very silly for non-aram games.
I don’t think that the HotS devteam could force that via an anomaly
Expert Learning:
- All XP gains are increased by 75%
- Upon reaching level 30, all talents are automatically learned (The heroic ability that was not chosen will not be unlocked)
I mean the games usually last short. So I doubt we’ll ever reach level 30 in a match.

It will be way too unbalanced. Some heroes will benefit a lot more than others.
Like imagine Nova with all of her level 7 talents and all of her level 16 talents:
20 armor reduction + 310% basic attack damage (or 400%, depending on how it’s being calculated - 250% + 60% or 250% * 160%) with 2 sec cooldown on Snipe, that also deals its damage in an AoE, AND a Decoy, that deals 30% of Nova’s damage.
Just a quick calculation - Nova will be able to dish out:
(100 + 325,5 (or 420) + 356,5)*1,2*(1 + 0,3*2) = 1501,44 - 1682,88 damage, which will be equal to 4869,77 - 5458,25 damage on level 30.
And this will be her “instant” damage, which she dishes out for less than a second. WITHOUT her ult, which increases it further.
Hell, she’ll be able to delete big part of the hero pool just with her initial burst.
But I must say that I am not quite against this idea. Just not blown out of proportion on the scale you are suggesting.
A long time ago I had suggested this:
On level 25, players will be able to pick additional talent, from any tier other than 10 and 20. And on level 30 they can pick one more, from any tier, other than 10.
To be fair though nova isn’t the only one who would have some really disgusting output with something like that
Just off the top of my head you’ve got Qhira who gains access to so much survival talents you might as well roll her as a tank while also retaining her 1000 DPS she can get from only 1 of the builds not counting the others and don’t even get us started on what Diablo could do with the healing of both the AA bild and the Flame build AND the armour from the Charge build.
… now that this is brought up this would be one hell of a fun brawl mode if you ask me, everyone gets all the talents on a tier when they rech that tier that’d be super fun.
Although, as already mentioned - not everyone will benefit the same.
Rexxar’s level 1 will be rather lame, even with all of the talents. While someone like Junkrat can benefit greatly.
Or Lunara’s level 1 talents… they are also really poor. While Tyrande will be having a blast.
Or Maiev’s level 13 talents - they can not stack with each other…

Characters with in-universe animosity towards each other deal more damage against each other. Characters who are in-universe allies deal more damage when supporting each other.
I am just imagining Imperius, Qhira and Alarak becoming such glass cannons because there is so much animosity going towards and coming out of them. XD
could the next anomaly just get skipped? IMO they haven’t released a good one yet, and the ones that could be promising are done so poorly they dont accomplish the intended purpose.

All first objectives on all maps are 50% stronger. (Except nukes, because Warhead junction is stupid)
Pfft, nukes are the weakest objective ever since they removed the bonus damage from the center area. They deserve this buff.
