It’s safe to say that DotA will comeback along side Warcraft 3 Reforged, and many HotS players (not all but a big percentage) play HotS because it’s the closest thing to what DotA was back in WC3, so having the custom games again with Reforged, it’s gonna happen guys, DotA will rise again and even if it doesn’t have the same ultra modern graphics the HotS engine provides, it will beat it in this way: there will be no overwatch, diablo or starcraft heroes. (maybe a few ones) but whoever creates that DotA will want to recreate what it was back in WC3, pretty unique Warcraft-based heroes. I love HotS don’t get me wrong, I’m just having this prediction for Warcraft 3 Reforged.

Have you ever played DotA on WC3? If yes how can you say that HotS is even similar to it? DotA2 is the most similar games around (for obvious reasons).
HotS and DotA have totally different gameplay and mechanics. If you think that they are “the most similar”, you don’t have a clue about what you’re talking about.

it really didn’t leave per se.
Some map-hackers either broke through the encryption on the warcraft 3 map, or some tried making it again from scratch, but a number of places made their own progress with dota-allstars to try to keep some parity with dota 2.
granted, I haven’t followed the scene and resources that I did years ago, so I had heard vers 7.0 was intentionally designed to separate dota from its warcraft counter-part and finally make use of a different game-engine. From a quick skim, it does seem the bot-hots that kept dota alive can ruined with one of the latest warcraft 3 patches (in sept) so some of the hots I followed did through in the towel and stop hosting, but, among dota, there were a number of maps still being hosting up until september of this year.

Indeed it is, though my guess on why is so people dont just leave an emoji or link, or a one liner. Most seem to hate it (posting the for mentioned) for some reason? Not just theses ones (this mods), I’ve seen other places with the minimal word count thing too.
Personally I am a little perturbed that they decided to censor a lot of words. Despite some of them not being derogatory or racist or sexist, or what ever other ist there is that a CERTAIN group has decided to pull out of their butt to swing around like a dead cat and annoy everyone that’s not part of their clique with.

Cuz most players here are fanboys. Most of them are going to play whatever blizzard put them. I am pretty sure that most Hots players would gladly play a DOTA2 or LOL clone with blizzard heroes

Wrong. in DoTA 1 we have The Butcher (Diablo), Venomancer (SC) and King Leoric (Diablo)
