Every since the last few patches, I have to launch the game between 2 and 12 times for it to not say I have a version mismatch. Nothing changes in between launches. Nothing is downloaded. Nothing is changed. Nothing
I’ve tried repairing, reinstalling, and reinstalling the bnet client itself, as well as installing to a different hard drive. Doesn’t fix it.

Two of my friends and myself have the exact same problems. Sometimes we’re so tired of closing-reopening the game 10+ times that we just give up and play something else which is very sad.
Sometimes it works just fine, sometimes it won’t. It’s not always a version mismatch though.
Sometimes the region doesn’t correspond (???) but I close and reopen it and suddenly it works even though nothing changed at all. Other times the “Ready” button doesn’t appear and I’m instead welcomed by a “Please wait…” button under my character. But, spoilers, waiting does absolutely nothing and I have to, ONCE AGAIN, close the game and open it again. I’ve tried repairing, uninstall/reinstall (both the game and Bnet client) and, just like you, I’ve tried different hard-drives, always SSD. Yet nothing works.
This only happens on HotS. I’ve been playing WoW for years and never had that problem, and it also only occurs since the last patch. The game just can’t be played at all, we have to close it and open it EVERYTIME minimum 5 times (up to 10+) otherwise we can’t do anything.

Yup been happening for weeks now
The issues of playing a dead game with minimal support
other topics have looked into this and apparently of the various serves you can connect, not all of them have been updated to the latest versions. While the game may only show like “US server” on the region, there’s some 12 or whatnot that the networks could use, and the backlog of game maintenance means some servers don’t have the right game version and instead of just logging in/out, it may be better to change the selected region, and then switch it back so you connect to a server that does have the correct version.
But yea, it is another level of tedium that encourages players to just do something else instead of jumping through yet another hoop to try to play the game.

I find swapping to ptr and back and region swap and back prior to first load avoids the problem all together.

It’s because they don’t have competent workers anymore. All these tech companies are diversity hiring people to meet arbitrary quotes for “they look like this”. Unfortunately, that is not how it works. This is what happens when companies go woke. They stop working, and they go broke.
Those incompetent workers just made a patch some days ago that fixed all the bugs we had the last 6 months. Sure you would have notiest it if you still play the game.
