- just her Q alone, if enemy randomly wiggles and i miss sinister strike with her it’s 5sec cooldown, without it she really does no damage
- ranked counterpicks really do hurt, like lunara can just walk away from valeera after open and poisons ofc
- paper-thin, very risky to engage, in case of missed Q she can’t disengage from the fight
- in ranked besides being hard counterpicked she also doesn’t fit in most comps and matchups well, but i really don’t have much experience to say for sure
Not if you open with the long silence, although it’s been ages since I saw anyone using this as a Lunara counter in general (doesn’t prevent her from running away, but she wont be able to Leap or do anything else)
She seems like a very rare pick these days. Even heroesprofile seems to reflect that, she’s up there with Lost Vikings and Nova at around 5% in Storm League.
She is mostly like Nova. Spends 90% of the time in stealth and waits until someone is low on hp before they pops up and kills them and walks away.
Mostly only used in QM in stacks in no heal/tank comps.
I find it best to open with a silence (garrote) into a Q. If the Q misses, you generally always disengage… Then rinse/repeat.
When disengaging from a missed Q, use your Q again (once off cd) to get further away until your D/Vanish is back up. Once you get lvl10 ult, Cloak gives you another “get out of jail free” card if you can juggle it correctly. Cloak has a 15 sec cd, so it is always up.
For newer players, i’d recommend smoke ult. Once you get the hang of her, i’d recommend cloak.
One of the most important parts of Valeera and knowing when to pop cloak comes down to having a good understanding of all heros, cc’s and rotations.
i disagree about cloak. smoke cloud is better in every situation.
1.5s of unstoppable, 15sec cd/ 5sec of being untargetable, 60sec cd
cloak doesnt give enough time to disengage, 1.5s is just enough to dodge initial wave of cc and damage after open just to not die, it’s idea is that it gives invincibility so valeera can either engage/disengage but when there is big fight for objective it’s important to open on someone squishy or important, do the damage and get out, stay alive. also 5sec is enough time to get vanish off 8s cd in every situation unlike cloak
Smoke isn’t bad and I would recommend it for newer Valeera players for everything you mention, but comparing cd’s, 15sec vs 60sec is huge.
If you get a quick kill on a squishy DPS, you can rinse and repeat and go for a second target with-in 15 secs, not waiting 60 sec for smoke to come back up. If you start your combo and miss your skill shot Q, you can easily duck out, use your cloak (if needed), rinse/repeat.
Also don’t have to be scared of initiating on full health, higher health pool heros/bruisers/tanks. You do your combo, duck out (cloak if needed), vanish, then rinse/repeat on the now half health bruiser/tank.
Again, cloak is more of an advanced technique which I wouldn’t recommend unless you have a thorough understanding of of all hero, cc’s and rotations and can correctly judge proper timing on cloak and know when to dip.
I recommend using disguise during the fight, not before. In addition, the garrote and focusing of a tank or bruiser . For a Mdd, Valeera hath quite much of health. And for escape there is always Q.
Thou art mistaken, I saw Valeeras, who in the Q build killed squishies in a few seconds with full HP. And Nova in the late game through an armor-piercing cartridge + debuff with W + triple shot doth the same and she doth not need to wait for anything. This build is scary even for tanks.
