I continue to see this time and time again, Uther with another support going stun build. It seems to be an easy win. I have tried many counters to this such as anna, or varian with his healing reduc, but the stuns matter more. I have even tried this and won 5/6 of the matches with the last one being our fault which we laughed about because it was just a stupid mistake.
Its because people don’t understand the value of cleanse, and cleanse traits on heroes.
Here let me draft what I want rather than what I need…
I ve tried cleans with lili against it, but 1 sec cleanse agasint an uther with benidiction/stun ult doesnt really do anything.
How about an Anduin Pull? Or Garrosh with Into the Fray? Both of those grants unstoppable I think.
As long as Malf or Brightwing isn’t the victim of the stun, their AOE cleanses are usually preferable vs an Uther stun comp than a single target cleanse such as Li Li. I admit Li Li has one of the most powerful single target cleanses in the game, but it still remains a single target cleanse.
It’s an easy win when it pops off, but like every other comp it still depends on your frontline and dps still doing their jobs too.
“Healing” is overrated. You’ll see even solo supports often skipping over healing talents in favor of more utility because strict healing numbers scale like garbage since post20 people tend to die much faster than you can heal them.
It’s great in the early game to ease through the laning phase but when the majority of fights revolve around securing a pick through stunlocks and wombos then sustained healing can feel really useless at times. It’s still nice for mitigating poke and what not but there’s a reason why healbots namely Medic aren’t nearly as favored as a healer that has some hard cc or decent damage.
Double healer is a nice set up because you now have far more than enough healing to cruise through the early game and neither of them are locked into their support talents so they can focus on dps builds and contribute more to lategame teamfights.
Uther is amazing in double healer since he’s functionally a tank and brings a lot of stunlock potential to the table as well as general damage prevention. While an E build Alex is capable of solo healing I still prefer seeing her in duo healer since most teams don’t know how to function in the early game without a steady supply of green lines, but yeah Dragonqueen is one of the hardest carries in the game.
It’s been a problem for awhile. They tried to nerf uther, but it doesn’t matter.
They need to probably make the quest more then 75 stacks and cost more mana.
My all-time favorites against Uther comps: Leoric, Deathwing or Johanna, if I am going to tank. They can’t stun, if you’re immune.
Another thing you should consider against this comp. Double support comps are usually strong at teamfights, but weaker at makro. So push comps are great here.
Kharazim can give an Uther comp fits, but sadly it doesn’t come online until late game.
Oh yeah, also don’t Johanna FS also give a team wide permanent Unstoppable? Like if that’s not one of the best cleanses there is, I don’t know what is.
That reminds me, Dont other healers have their own ways to counter him? I think Stukov’s Superstrain counters chain CCs? It heals for a chunk of your health everytime you get stunned while having healing pathogens active. And Kharazim has a relatively low cooldown Unstoppable at his Q.
Yes, but I personally still hate Fallen Sword, because for me an easy aoe stun skillshot > Jump into the air as tank.
- Uther
- another Healer (usually Malf, LĂşcio and before the nerfs, Stukov)
- 2 Assassins
- 1 Flex (Assassin/Bruiser usually)
This is the comp, right?
I saw a nice counter to Uther stunchain build, against a Tassadar using blackhole once getiing close to an ally or walling him to prevent that situation should help
yes very much this. (20 chars)
Ye pro players in CCL like to use him as main tank/offhealer.
personally I just go vikings as usual, can handle uthers stuns pretty well, and can force out the use of them at around 7, and using it on 1/3 of a hero is generally not optimal.
