Use hero name “Grom”, not “Grommash”

Hi guys,

I have a request since i’m one of those large group of fans who are waiting for Grom Hellscream with crossed fingers even with the current state of the game. My suggestion might not be a big deal for regular fans but means so much for most of Grom Hellscream fans.

Original/MU Grom Hellscream in your franchise was an ultimate badass and made many fans love him back in early 2000s. He was a complex character with flaws, stuck between good and evil. He had unique appearance and manners. We all loved him as “Grom”. Then… you have created an abomination (sorry but it’s true) most commonly called “Grommash” in Warlords of Draenor expansion. He was nowhere close to Grom we loved. His appearance was like a pig and looked like any other random Orc in the cinematics. His voice was more like Blackhand’s voice, not Grom’s. His Warsong representative identity was lost. Most people did not like him (including me) and “Grommash” name reminds us of the fake Hellscream.

Since hero requests are growing for him constantly, i feel like you guys are going to give us a big surprise and release him soon. My request is: PLEASE give him “Grom” hero name, not “Grommash”.

Call him" grommash hellscream maid of mannoroth " please.
His trait should be a power up after drinking at the healing fountain.

I guess him being grom would be nice? As far as name goes(and as someone who really wants him too) I don’t really care. As long as they don’t give him any WoD stuff it’ll be fine.

1 Hellscream is more than enough.

But yeah if it has to come I’d rather have Grom than Grommash. Unfortunately, current Blizzard is favoring their own products instead of the originals which means there is a higher chance for Grommash to be released.

I hope he has some aesthetic to set him apart from Garrosh.

Nope. I’m referring to taking characters from the latest incarnation of their universes instead of going for the classics of Diablo/Warcraft/Starcraft.

Edit: to be clearer, any orc that used to exist in pre-wow is going to be taken from warlords of draenor because Warcraft was a Blizzard North/South product while WoD is something that the current Devs worked on.

Since colour tints and skins are a thing, different skin colour won’t be enough. They need to have different silhouettes.

That’s a kool idea! It would be nice if playing as Grom, all the healing fountains liquid would change to be the glowing green stuff.

Grom in polish literally means thunderbolt.
Grom is basically more badass looking Thrall but he needs to be assassin with a charge/leap and lethal damage to low hp heroes.

I don’t really count Garrosh as a Hellscream tbh. He is just Garrosh, that’s it.

I like this idea too but in WIII the well blood was more red, fel orcs are red too… and vials dropped by them with contained blood are also red. There was also TBC fel orc boss called “Gurtogg Bloodboil” he was whole red, giving you with each attack debuff stacks, maybe Grom can share some mechanics with him as i remember the fight to be rather exciting.
After you drink from it, you should also get some glowing aura, eye effect and axe particle.

I must be mistaken. When is the liquid green? Was it with Illidan or when Garrosh was offered to drink it by Guldan?

No, you are right, it was redesigned, i just stated it looked different in the original.
Even if they make it green, Grom should totally have red eyes when enraged, since he looked that in cinematic.

He should get his red glowing eyes and green skin, and should be made leaner than he was in WoD and the Warcraft movie.

I don’t mind him not being a blademaster, because he isn’t a blademaster, but even the books have described him as being a leaner orc.

Have you made a Hero Concept for Grom? Since we already have a Blade Master, what do you envision Grom’s play-style to be?
