Can we bring back the US west server choice? I keep getting placed on central US servers - which gives me about 60-80 higher ping and makes the game low-key unbearable. I know the servers still exist, just the option to choose them has dissapeared

Yeah im from Australia, but you don’t get many games due to low population, So i used to just queue US west but now its not worth playing on 220 ping

They removed the server choice in the US for the same reason in April 2020, lack of players if both servers only stick to their own region. Just not enough people left in the US playing HotS to support selective server choice.
You are right, the server is still there, but the system will now merge matches for both West & Central and there is no way to choose which one you prefer.

After looking at the causes for North American players’ longer wait times and instances of not queuing together, we are bundling matchmaking for our US regions together.

I suppose its better for the general population of HOTS, just a shame you cant preference it or anything - e.g. 15 of last 15 games were on central server rather than an even mix
It forces you on the server which can produce matches, so if more people are online on Central and nearly nobody is online on West you’ll have to play all your games on Central.
Which I admit will be awful for an aussie player (though still better than waiting 5,000 seconds in aussie queue and still getting no match) because your ping will be high.
Seems like EU is the last fortress left, with a solid enough player base without the need for server tricks. Though that is to be expected given how many people live on the continent.

As another Aussie player who plays with a bunch of mates in Western Canada, this change to Central US servers has made the game practically unplayable…
Blizzard please please please bring back the option to select US West in the preferred servers list.

Japanese player can no longer play with US people with decent ping. I got always US Central match and 200~300 ping game. It feels stutter and unfun. US West is much better ping. Seriously please bring back US west server choice.

Yeah, I played this game everyday at US west server but now all games are on central wich gives me 300ms-1000ms, makes me sad
