Unplayable Lag Issues Despite Optimal System and Network Con

Since Monday of 2/10/25 I have been experiencing severe and persistent lag while playing Heroes of the Storm. This issue makes the game nearly unplayable, with frequent delays, rubberbanding, and input lag that disrupts the gameplay experience.

The problem is exclusive to Heroes of the Storm, as all other online games I play function without issue.

I have exhausted nearly every conceivable fix, including but not limited to:

Reinstalling the game (clean reinstall)
Disabling audio reverb (a known past culprit for performance issues)
Clearing cache and saved game data
Disabling all 45 instances of Heroes of the Storm in my firewall inputs (Yes, 45. Why are there so many?)
Lowering graphics settings to absolute minimum
Testing different network (wired vs. wireless, different routers)
Monitoring system performance(game is not overloading CPU, GPU, or RAM)
Ensuring optimal internet speed (high download/upload speeds, no packet loss, low latency on other online services)

Despite these efforts, the game continues to perform abysmally.

My system is more than capable of running Heroes of the Storm smoothly
My Internet Speed is optimal for online gaming with no issues in other games
Other Online Games run perfectly fine with no lag, disconnections, or stuttering

This is not a user-end problem. The issue lies with Heroes of the Storm itself—either poor server performance, shoddy netcode, or an unresolved bug that is severely affecting gameplay. The fact that I have spent this much time troubleshooting a dead game is more effort than Blizzard seems to have put into maintaining its servers in the last 10 years.

By the way, this is on top of the phantom updates that happen every single time I boot up battle.net

Please either:

  1. Fix your servers.
  2. Acknowledge the issue exists and provide a real solution.
  3. Shut the game down officially instead of letting it limp along like this.

I would appreciate an actual response that isn’t a canned “check your settings” or “reinstall the game” suggestion, because I have already done everything on your support page and more.

Sounds like you’re asking for an micro/acti/bliz/hots answer. I don’t think such a thing has been received in recent history. If it doesn’t work on your machine, I’m afraid there’s not much that will be done.
