Tyrael "speed" build

hi everyone, i really wanted to share a build with tyrael i had great success with, i was surprised also of how well it worked too. saddly i dont have the Lvl 3 to show the pictures directly , so can i ask someone to help in that reggard please :slight_smile: ?

what is funny about this is how much you can stick to people, any one that had a low life you can just harass them until they leave their team to retreat or kill them, which ever comes first.

yes your initial per hit damage may not be as much as other builds but you see to be much more troublesome to the enemy to deal with lol .

mobility is far from being an issue since you can go so far that your unmounted speed is still 15% superior to a regular mounted speed, you simply dont care if they run away on their mount because you can still catch them lol XD

also your attack speed is at 2,19 per seconds, which synergize really well with the level 1 talent ( ardent restoration ) since the healing increase not per the damage you deal but for each time you do, and since your dealing so many hits , your pretty much always at max regeneration .

on top of all that you’re already going faster than everyone but at level 4 you can slow the enemy and add an extra 4 seconds slow on top of that nearly every time .

over all it makes it super easy for your to both engage their back lines and come back to your own front line to fight off their own tanks , you can retreat usually without issues, and help your team run away or chase them .

over all i would rate this build pretty good on the fun factor and performance :+1:

any of you tried something like this usually or is your Tyrael build usually something else ?

Love it. When i play tyreal with the fast AA build, i cant help but think of that movie “Robin Hood men in tights”.

Seeing tyreal flay his sword around but not do any serious damage reminds me of that scene where Blinkin is attacking that wooden post.

I do love AA talents when it’s available to use them and the “Sword of justice” at lv. 13 is my preferred choice on that tier, honestly I rarely pick Holy ground in my QM match since I often get team that lag damage or facing enemy with dangerous backline that need to be dived to harass/disrupt to some degree. Unless they need full protection I rather go with “Law & order” to be aggressive.

I love the mind game of El’druin teleportation, with the SWOJ I can play that with its full potential, recently I’m trying it with smite the wicked to hit 3 ppls 2 times to get over 1k damage, rarely happened though XD

Looks like fun. I’ve been meaning to play more tanks outside of Johanna/Diablo/Arthas/Anub’Arak, so maybe I’ll give this a try. One of the things that pulled me to Arthas was making it impossible for my enemies to escape.

Looks fun indeed.

Mobility has always be the main strenght for Tyrael and you can exploit it defensively and offensively.

Yeah this is a cool build. This is a great build for maps with mostly skirmishing where I want the speed / self sustain like Warhead junction, Dragon shire, Sky temple. I usually go with this build (close to yours):

1.Ardent Restoration
4.Divine Vigor
7.Swift Retribution
10.Judgment
13.Holy Ground
16.Burning Halo
20.Angel of Justice

The only changes I make from your build are:

4.Divine Vigor (If Smite hits an enemy, Tyrael’s basic attacks for the next 4 seconds heal 50% of the damage). This actually provides a lot of healing combined with your level 7, and allows you to heal off of minion waves or map objectives like the sky temple guardians (really important).

16.Burning Halo (Both Tyrael and El’druin deal 19 damage per sec, increased to 150% after teleporting for 2 sec). This is also a really important talent combined with your level 1 talent. Ardent Restoration + Burning Halo lets you scale up to the max HoT really fast and makes you very difficult to kill in any 1v1 situation.

Would you know if it stacks with sword of justice ?
Like , the sword and Tyrael both have an aura right ? Can they stack if both auras are close enough ? And upon teleporting , the aura is boosted to 150% BUT the sword so disapears… But with sword of justice an other one would be there , so if someone where to engage you and instead of throwing the sword away you thrown it at tour feet and teleported , a copy of the sword wpuld be created and would both of your aura and the swords be boosted to 150% ? And would they stack ? As one bigger damage or would the enemy take one or the otger as damage ?

The boosted damage is active only around Tyrael, so you can teleport to the the first location, activate the bonus damage for 2 hits then teleport back to get another 2.

both El’druin on the ground and Tyrael deal AOE damage with aura as long as the effect is still in active.

I personally nick name this talent “stealth revealer”, it’s very useful to bring those hide in the shadow into the light by just present near them or let them walk pass the sword with aura active, it’s also nice to do wave clear, capture mercs, incinerate Zag’s creep, etc.

Yes it does stack in a way. With burning halo at level 16, Tyrael and El’druin both deal 34 damage per second. After teleporting they both deal 84 damage per second for 2 seconds.

So if you throw El’druin near your target, you can teleport to increase the burning Halo damage to 84 for two seconds, and then teleport again for another 84 damage for two seconds. In total you will get:

4 seconds x 84 damage from Tyrael
2 seconds x 84 damage from El’druin
