Trying to learn Maiev, any advice is welcome

The best part of Maiev to me is her ability to basically do 5-man ganks.
Q build is decent, and E build is garbage. But W build is all you need, unless the enemy team has blinds. In that case, you may as well be playing someone else

She is, and that’s one of the reasons I both like her and hate her. Her efficacy varies drastically depending on the mode. In QM, knives build is the best because people will likely clump up together for free Q resets. In competitive, W build is best because it can be used with your E to go for long-range, high-value ganks that most other heroes can’t do.

TLDR: The best thing she has is utility. If you want pure damage, you should play someone better

Thank you guys for all the useful information. I’m going to parse through it and see what advice is applicable to me. I say ‘applicable’ because a lot of things that are listed were things I was already doing but in QM, the randomness gave me 5 ranged opponents who were rarely clumped to get full value from Q.
