This game needs a give up function or comeback mechanic

By 5 minutes in, you already know 95% of the time if you are going to lose or win.

So you gave up every time something doesn’t go your way. Thus, you contributing to your own demise. Good Job!

Heres a solution for you how about you evaluate the draft and take a look at them win rates. If you truly see something will effect your game play go junkrat. Sometimes picking the middle heroic and exploding yourself is a good stylish way to say you hate your team. This contributes to you having fun and giving damage. There will be also a 50% chance of your opponents getting killed when they eliminate you and you dropped bombs on them.

It’ll be abused hard. We already have a lot of trolls in game imagine what they will do…

I would say surrender option open if 3 or more of your team afk and disconnects.

Man, this topic comes back every week.

How do you know for sure

This game does have comeback mechanics. Problem is, some players don’t know how to macro and act like moth to a flame when it comes to brawling and teamfight. You’re not valiant nor honorable, a badass, when you stood ground, never backed down, and die fighting da good fight. There is no principle involved when playing a game. All those players did was throwing, forfeiting any potential chance for comeback. When the cause is lost, as in, if your team gets in a disadvantage situation (like one of them dying), fall back and focus on macro. This way your team wouldn’t be behind on xp, be in a level disadvantage, lanes being pressured on the next teamfight (your team will be pretty much on equal grounds. and as some heroes shine at later levels, this can give you that comeback)

All you really need in this game to win is 1 lane fully pushed. That’s 1 fort and 1 keep, even if the enemy destroyed all your forts and 2 keeps or whatever. There are some variables like Alterac, but that’s the general gist.

That’s around level 7-ish, not even 2nd obj popped on most maps. If you can figure out 95% of the time who will win at that point, it means losing team is doing it wrong. As I said, some heroes are simply better at later level (scale better). There are easy to see heroes like Zeratul, Abathur, but not all of them are clear cut, epecially when team is consist of 5 combo of heroes.

That’s why you don’t try to throw (in a matter of speaking. not intentional ones, but unintentional ones which the players themselves won’t say they were throwing). There is always a chance unless one team royally screwed up their draft.

The classic “why are you not coming to team fight?”

“Can you stop killing minions?”

All while

My team level 7
Enemy team level 10

Still goes in 3v5 then becomes toxic.

With that said this games come back is very very possible. 1 good team fight towards the end usually means game over unless you’re in one of those teams where the lane is open to core, all of the enemy team is dead but your team decides to and grab camps instead of killing the core

I know I might sound like a noob but arent mercenaries sort of a way as a comeback mechanic? Also, I agree with the give up function when 2 people are afk since 3v5 is virtually unwinnable. Again could sound noobish but that’s my view.

Nah man. I’m all for a surrender option and YES most of the time you can tell BUT you should never give up, 6.5/10 can come back!

So true… I can’t even count how many times I got flamed for soaking, while my team prefers to constantly getting wiped, because they loves brawling all the time, even when there is nothing to contest to (no objective, camps are ignored).

On topic I don’t want a surrender option in Hots, because it will be abused with the report system. If we wouldn’t have an automated system with the reason “abusive chat”, then my choice would be different.

Could be a side effect, indeed.

On a side note, the fact that pointless brawling is so addicting to players is a testament to how satisfying it is to use abilities and hit stuff in this game!

Part of the reason I left League was because I was so tired of people surrendering before the match could reach a natural conclusion. I can play out an entire match of HotS in the time it takes for a team of League players to fight and give up at the 20 minute mark!

Good point, but on the other hand the average game length of LoL or Dota 2 is doubled and thanks to gold mechanic it’s even more snowball-ish, which is why it is justified there. That’s why I wouldn’t compare LoL and Dota 2 compare to Hots in that matter, because this games are too different.

I would more likely compare Hots to Pokemon Unite. The latter has even shorter games than Hots, because it has an actual game timer. Every standard game lasts 10 minutes, fun modes even 5 minutes. But even this game has surrender option, but I have to admit I almost never used it, because it wasn’t needed. Only 2-3 were enemys were clearly above us and they were dominant through all stages of the game.

This topic is new and exciting.

If the slightest setback makes you give up, obviously you either stomp (win) or get stompped (lose), so it’s not that you estimate it so accurately, or anyone can, it’s just that you make self-fulfilling prophecies.

This game needs no Surrender, because: THIS GAME HAS A LOT OF COMEBACK MECHANICS (also a lot, and increasing amount of anti-snowball mechanics).

I wouldn’t say 5 minutes, I would say when your base is at 0%, that’s when you know you lost

the only comeback mechanic i know is “stop sucking” while playing
and my give up funcion is just sit near fort and wait enemy team to end

Thread downvoted, end of discussion.

P.S. Can we seriously get back a downvote function. It’s stupid that you can like things but can’t dislike.
