This game needs a anonymous mode

I made a thread about three months ago and back here again to reiterate this game really needs a anonymous mode. For people that play more then a couple hours per week, people eventually know you and focus you. I just got followed around by a 3 queue of trihards in a QM with a team of randos. So whatever SBMM metric in QM I was propping up basically allowed me to do nothing and our team had almost no chance. We agreed collectively to surrender.

After the game I received a message from one of the members on the other team ‘why’d you give up’, which was quickly met with ignore.

That’s not fun. Getting harassed is not fun. Whatever alternate universe Blizzard is living in where people are always nice to others online, especially in a moba where people get butt hurt and hold grudges, is not present here. I can only imagine how horrid comp is.

How can they “follow” you in QM? And on top of that, how can they be sure to be on the enemy team instead of being on your own side?

What? They literally all group up together, get on their mounts, ride over and attempt to gank me, over and over again.

You don’t need to make up a BS excuses for a username I’ve seen multiple times with a duo or trio queue do exactly the same thing to me. This isn’t a one time event.

Passive-aggressive harassment has nothing to do with them trying to queue snipe me, it has everything to do with just randomly ending up in my game and deciding to mess with me for whatever reason. The community is that small, especially at early morning hours. In a different moba, like LoL for instance the playerbase is much bigger so the chances of ever encountering the same person again is very minimal. That’s not the case here, especially with SBMM.

Well, that is almost like the normal flow of the game. Trying to kill people and gank them out.
Maybe they were focusing you because you were the most dangerous of your team or maybe because you were out of position.
But you can also play safe and stick to your team to be more protected.

If you can provide a replay it’ll for sure highlight better the scenario because from what you’re writing it’s hard to consider if it was just a random situation or real focus on you.

If you dont want to have other players whisper you just turn on bnet friends only mode on. Then they all gets blocked and only bnet friend can whisper you.

Also try hard in qm lol. Who does that nowadays. Maybe people who suck in SL does that now i see.

Also its not that long time ago i had a game were enemy team would stall the game for really long time cause we had no chance to win any teamfights vs their team. Getting half mage team and a afk Gaz vs 3 stealthers and a Butcher.

We had no chance vs them. And instead of just get the game over with, they stall the game and just farm lanes while Zera/Nova was hiding near our spawn zone and waiting for us to get out. Now thats really some pathetic gameplay. Just que up as 4 man premade and hope matchmaker gives you a free win team you can farm over and over with. And then be a complete idiot and stall the game for about 15 min instead of just destroy our core so we can move on.

When I tryhard even in QM… Am I retarded?

Just normal gameplay here tbh.

Turns out playing the game properly now equals stalking D:

If people are stalking you, use invis mod - they won’t know when you will play.

I’m legit confused here, because what I could decipher from the op is just the enemy trying to win.
But that’s somehow harassment, wut!

He gets targeted by some people in QM. They snipe him to get on games vs him.

Why are so many of you even indulging him by writing paragraphs of text against a statement that can’t even stand on its own two feet? While we’re at it lets just remove all social features that might cause negative emotions and play 4 minute games against bots.

:man_facepalming: Imagine doing your best to win, which is the entire point of the game, regardless of game mode. No wonder we keep getting topics like this because there’s always one person messing around at the expense of their team and they get offended when asked to stop.

If anything, people should get reported in-game for comments such as yours during the match, and it should be treated to the same extent as throwing on purpose.

When several people on the team share that attitude, I’ll just afk out and we will see how much fun you’ll be having for the next 15 minutes. I won’t even bother talking back at you or try to justify my position. If you’re not here to win, don’t play multiplayer, it’s simple as that.

Yeah, but that’s not possible. There’s no guarantee to get into the same match, but ppl can avoid to be queued into the same game for granted via whispers.

I got one idiot 6 games in the row, where 5 of them he was on my team. All of them I lost. That troll was throwing, playing only Zuljin.

It’s possible, believe me.

You can get this at quiet times, if you’re high or low ranked you will see the same people more often.

It is not.
One thing if something can occur by chance.
Another to make it happen purposefully.

You can get unlucky and get the same person in a row of your matches, but not because that person themselves made it possible.

But if someone doesn’t believe me, just try to get against, or in the same team with someone you have on your friendlist or just played with a moment ago.
You have nothing to be sure that will happen.

I sometimes get matched with same person two or three times in a row, QM.

You can avoid by waiting for 1-2 minutes before queue-ing.

reading this made me chuckle. thank you @OP!

on-topic:
that’s just how the game is. you must do your best to win so playing smart and ganking targets / stealing camps etc~ is all part of it there’s no restrictions saying “you’re not allowed to steal the enemy’s merc camps or ganking them” and to avoid the same people you played against or with you wait for them to enter a game and that’s it you won’t get in same match in that case!

This is either the most confusing or most funny topic on the forum for a while.

What exactly was your team doing when this 3 party was “trying to gank you all game”?

A replay would say more than a thousand words…

Also, people focus fire targets all the time in organized play, not just as 3 but as 5.
