This Game is Dead

What a game doing better when it first comes out? No way man must be dead.

Kinda hard for this game to be “cash grab”… since it’s probably losing money

I have been playing this game for two years and I have spent the exact amount of 0 € on it. Not loot boxes. Not skins. Not stimpacks. And what’s also important, I have never felt I was on a disadvantage because of not spending money on this.

So yeah, for me, it’s free. I don’t think what’s dishonest about what I said. Of course Blizzard want people to get some money from this game. But the fact is, it is 100% optional and gameplay-wise it makes no difference.

If this game was a ‘pay2win’ one, I would agree with you. But that’s not te case.

5 days passed and OP still didn’t respond to this at all.

Thats why I wonder why they even have different modes. They should’ve just stolen other games ideas and gone with a single mode, that way everyone is in the same queue, and you can all see your MMR. And if you want to team up to pad your stats so you can flash your epeen on the forums and your fancy mount, then you can.

If you want to be “serious”, organize custom games, or try to get in good with an esports team. The average player isn’t interested in all that crap.

In general, “free-to-play” games are significantly more expensive than games using the traditional “pay once, you own it” model.

The only legitimate comparison to a normal, buy-to-play game is to compare what you get:

  1. B2P - Immediate and complete access to the complete game. Sometimes unlocks are required, but the time it takes to acquire them is minimal if you know what you’re doing. Full price for a AAA game today: $60-100

  2. F2P - Immediate access to a fraction of the game designed to entice you into wanting to experience the entire thing. Most unlocks theoretically available to people who grind for months or years, but in reality this is only so they can make that claim, and it’s all made unrealistically slow so as to get people to spend money on them. Up-front cost of HotS if you want the same thing you get from a B2P game (as of Mephisto update): 50,000 jewels exactly, or $435.

The game directors last idea was to allow solo players to join team league before he jumped ship. Im almost convinced that guy intentionally ruined this game before leaving :joy:

Yeah because the game was just about to overtake fortnite without that right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Game is trash can fire. Blizzard losing market share to superior studios daily while its leaders jump ship in droves.

This game literally got me interested in playing League of Legends.
I never played a MOBA before this game… something isn’t right there.

The Queue times killed the game u_u

Completely agree, game very much dying. Ship cannot be saved. It was a good run, not that it lasted long.

Used to spend tons of money myself. When they switched to the stupid loot crates it was nothing but an insult. I refuse to buy into that.
On top of that… they refused to fix the game so we are at this standoff but I just see it remaining like this. Nothing much will change. All that will happen is new heroes, new skins thats it.

I quit wow recently so looking for a good new game to play.

I’d be happy to support the game if I thought they deserved it. But I see a dev team out of touch with the playerbase, (much like WoW’s really). I’ve seen this before in World of Tanks. A new guy was brought in who was a popular streamer. He took over design of the game, and it turned into nothing but a corporate cashgrab, and the player numbers have dived ever since. The esports league they tried to promote and fund was so unlike playing the game as a regular player, that almost no one watched it and it was eventually scrapped.

Much of the NA team was laid off, and the server population was so low that free migrations were offered to other servers. Now the game subsists on monthly powercreep tanks in a bid to try and get whales to empty their wallets.

The SHORT queue times that is.
Matchmaker chose short low quality matches over higher ones.
