Starting to side with the group that say there is absolutely 0 chance there is any learning algorithms in hots, just had a valla on my team tell us the enemy team players “move like bots” and although the enemy team played better then us their reason why is “AIs are good at predicting”, cracked me up when they self proclaimed themselves as an “AI expert”.
No they did not move like AIs, however they did manage to land a lot of nice ganks on me thanks to their abathurs mine laying, honestly one of the better abas i've seen, if it wasn't a 2 lane map and I wasn't worn out from 12 games in a row of vikings, it would have been a really fun and exciting game.

The only bots I think I’ve seen have been in VS AI games. It was the lack of skill displayed and the specifically timed repetitive movements to keep the player from being flagged as AFK, that led me to think that perhaps they might be AI.
Even then I had my doubts. If anyone really thinks a player is botting you can just report it, but I think this is a total nonissue.

Stupid people are now using “bot” as a generic copout for everything bad happening in the game like too good opponents, too bad allies, ally who feeds etc…
Some even think the game puts AI’s on your side because not enough real players… (Yeah in ARAM when it displays the AI ally notification after a long que, but outside it, big nope).
I lost the taste for that insult when witnessing several such bot accusations when playing Vikings myself. All it took was not moving Erik for about 10 seconds because I was busy in a teamfight with 2 others.
edit -Have also been called a bot just because I didn’t chat or ping.

There are really no evidence that those so called bad players you face are bots. People call them bots these days cause they have no other explanation to it. I have seen first hand how B5 can be from replays of a former bnet friend I had.
They are not bots tho. Just kids playing the game as some kids would think it should be played or just players that have no clue what the game is all about.

lmao, the level players can scapegoat off viking players amazes me more and more every day, but yeah i’ve had that happen a couple of times aswell.

Uhh there are bots in the game and there are also simple macros out there too. After grinding some dailies here and there I’ve bumped into these while playing against AI. Some follow same linear movement into their deaths usually Attack Moving towards the mid lane until the game simply ends. Some do a bit of movement here and there but they end up linearly feeding like that too
I mean when the alternative for these things is expecting that players simply roleplay being bots/macros, you’re going on the deep end with flat eartheners and other tinfoil hats
or they just dont care about their ai mode stats and want to finish their quests or get their daily chest?
i mean i have done the above and dont consider it trolling since i only do dailies in beginner ai which is unlosable even if you try to lose on purpose
i watch youtube, click my character to go in the middle of the lane, if it dies i tab back 2 minutes later and make the character walk back again
people underestimate the amount of effort needed to create bots for a game, nobody going to bother to do that for a game with 30 players at night like hots

ye its called griefing with queue commands, its not that complicated to do specially with a respawn timer, honestly I’d say saying its 100% garanteed that there are bots playing is “going on the deep end with flat earthers and other tinfoil hats”

like you said i just shift que the move commands then tab out again
its beginner ai so who cares, not like we are going to lose the match anyway whether i die 4 or 14 times, most people are there just to clear quests
but my intention is never to grief anyone, i just didnt realize people take ai mode so seriously
If you want to complete dailies then afking in ai teammates mode is there too

That is the most fair way to AFK play, do so with all AI teammates. It’s probably not fun for VS AI mains to have people AFK in their matches.
