Normally I am apathetic towards such things as a bronze to gm challenge as people seem to have faith the system will correctly place them within a reasonable amount of time. But I really don’t think a streamer should be allowed to publicly start to my current knowledge, his third bronze to gm challenge on his channel. It seems against the spirit of competition.
Given you currently go on big point streaks (+600 per game for repeat wins) he wont hang around in each division for more than 1-2 matches anyway (and each league more than a dozen or two matches.
He is having a negligible to nonexistent effect on anyones win ratio or rank points in lower ranks.
I guess they do it just as a jab at the people who claim it’s impossible to rise out of Bronze or Silver due to “bad teammates”.

He does it because it’s entertaining as hell.
Having viewers chose the hero and often a play style. Like ABA mines only or Thrall all Quests talents completed…
As a silver/gold player I am not insulted at all, Infact even watching him you can learn a lot if not be insanely entertained. Gaz 6 turrets in a bush bait trap, yes please!

Well, that is a positive approach. Most people for some reason get mad at bronze-GM challenges despite it having little effect on their lives.

There’s actually huge carry power in SL that’s rather easy to climb.
I’ve been bullying and harassing silvers and climbed all the way to plat 2 with play multiple chars, they are easy to take advantage of, you kinda even understand their part way of thinking, the problem is they don’t think if or not if to commit it, because I see the kill open wide I go for it and as miracle my silver teammates follow and win as a result.

I know him and I watch him everyday.
It is more a challenge for himself. Only soloqueue, Bronze to GM and even playing heroes that viewers request with certain builds.
He is climbing by playing Valeera, Gazlowe, Murky, Lt Morales, and other low tier heroes.
And yet I see everyday here people complain about trolls and bad teammates prevent them to rank up.
In only around less than two weeks, he is now at Platinum, SOLO QUEUE only.
So go ahead say you cant carry in this game.

I agree. I’m stuck around gold-low plat, but not because teammates, lag or bad weather.
It’s because I frequently go over my replays and notice I made quite a few mistakes every game. I miss easy kills, come late to objective, didn’t recognize enemy camp pushing down our entire lane, I died too early in a teamfight because I started before allies were there to help me etc.
Still trying to fix them and become a better player.
People are very fast to point out bad teammates with no regard to how well they themselves played.
Not every game will you have “trolls” and “feeders”. It evens out after hundreds of games. The only person in your every game is you.

Yeah agree. I also always for self-check after games. Before blaming others, sometimes it is me that didnt coordinate with other teammates. Now I learn how to do my role with certain heroes, like if I am playing Artanis, I try to solo camp+soak and swap properly. If I am playing healer, I try my best to always stick with the team. If I am playing DPS, I try my best to avoid unnecessary damage or deaths.
I also now always monitor my teammates movement and try to follow them or avoid followup if they dive into 1v5 or 1v4 and just let them be. Better only 1 person die instead of two or three.

It will always happen, so I do not see an issue with it overall… but I fully agree that it being done public ally in the open should result in the account being banned.
Even if it “barely wrecks games” or is “a challenge for the streamer” guess what…
That is still hundreds of players given poor quality games.
And QM exists if you want to go challenge builds.
There is no way to really stop this happening because identifying it without streaming is hard. But someone doing it publically? Ban that garbage.
Also getting to bronze… doesn’t that require throwing QM games, or placements? Ruining even more players games?
I’ve an account I only play drunk, and iirc it “only” got into high silver when I placed it.

There is a game mode that isn’t meant to be serious where one could be just as entertaining… it’s called Quick Match.
I understand it is not played much and hidden behind a long queue and a minimum level required to enter. So I understand why a streamer wouldn’t bother with it.

The streamer you mentioned uses viewer donated accounts that are already bronze, so he doesn’t throw.

Not many players look back on their gameplay. It’s an important way to improve on your own but I think most see what they want to see like bad teammates, etc. For the most part you seem to have only macro and game sense issues. Those get better the more aware you are and reviewing your replays should help a lot with that.

I dont think its an issue. The incentive to do this is incredibly small because the games are so horrible that only streamers really want to play them for the viewers. No offense to bronze/silver players i was there too, but looking back you improve by alot.
Ok, but it’s not just one streamer doing this and they are doing this over and over again. I’d be way more impressed if they played a ‘niche’ hero in their own rank, or a hero with a low statistical win rate. Then I’d be all for the “Hey, anyone can do this” attitude.

You sound bitter. At least him and his audience are having fun. So much toxicity in this game.
You should watch the video of him going Stitches with a troll team who went no healer double tank and he just went full sustain and kept dropping “Winnable” in in-game chat and literally outhealed the opponent’s healer with self sustain.
It’s very interesting how he can demonstrate niche builds and make them shine under bad circumstances. And still have fun.
That’s the point, fun. It’s a game… And ranked is a fine place to do it. He carries teams (or Bombs with DVA, he’s absolute garbage on DVA) why shouldn’t players have fun Mr grumpy?
