There are so many blizzard characters

Why do you have to make hots OCs?

I guess the dev team has no budget for the big name voices. That’s the only excuse I see at the moment.

I mean hell Yrel has a warrior build as a pally, could’ve done literally anything.

This chick looks like a half warrior half rogue. I’m sure I’ve seen those droopy swords in wow before. Just give them to someone notable who isn’t known for their weapon.

I’m here for the big names. If I wanted OCs I could care less about I’d go to dota or lol, or one of the millions of other mobas. Hell I’d probably play on mobile before I went to those 2.

Just seems like brand betrayal.

Oh well, devs will do what they do. My input changes nothing. I’m just annoyed.

Based on the new spotlight sitting at 7k likes and 7.2 dislikes and the dialogue used in the video, it is clear the developers are burnt out and are losing passion for this game. It was likely all the changes/scandals at Blizzard along with their financial rug being pulled out from under them that is leading to a HoTS spiral. Their focus on unethical and greedy micro transactions was like getting cheap thrill with long term consequences.

Why not? All OCs they have brought so far are interesting and enable kits that no other hero really fits.

I wonder when this whole topic will finally be forgotten.

Go to the Wow wiki spam the random article button and tell me how much more excited you’d be for each character that pops up.

You’re saying nothing but facts here

Add a random boss from a random WoW raid and no one would be as mad as they are right now

I’ve left the game for like 6 months now … Guess I wasn’t wrong with my decision

Im here for heres that have skills that work togeather. If you are so worried about making sure you only play the heroes you enjoy the lore of you are a detriment to the players you play with. I dont care who im playing as i only care how the hero will help the group.

Umm . . . we didn’t get all those other characters because Blizzard developed a philosophy of “We’ve got enough, so let’s quit creating more.” Remember that such “iconic” characters as Arthas, Kel’thuzad, and Thrall didn’t exist until Blizzard decided to create a bunch of new characters for WC3 – a franchise that didn’t need a bunch of new characters, either. It was an RTS, not an RPG.

Try looking at it from a different perspective. If Blizzard has a habit of creating characters that grow to be well-loved, iconic, and in demand, why can’t that happen here?

I hate that I can only give your comment one like, when it deserves over nine thousand :frowning:

A Void entity of some sort, like an elemental, from Warcraft would fit Qhira’s abilities as well as she does, and they’d fit HotS better than she does.

If you played an parts of WoW that pit you up against them, you’ll probably remember their attack animation where they impale you with a tentacle, then pull it back after about a second. That would fit perfectly with Carnage’s effects.

Some sort of Void-based corruption or madness affliction would perfectly fit in place of all of Blood Rage’s effects.

Revolving Sweep could literally just be the Void entity latching onto/passively possessing the target and lashing out around them, then striking the target and reappearing.

Unrelenting Strikes would be a like a nova of Void energy that pulses and grows each pulse until it explodes entirely.

Final Strike could be replaced with the Void entity ripping open a portal to the Void, letting its energies and madness spill out, which would of course hurt those weak in body or mind, such as those close to death, more.

And that’s just one possible alternative. I see no reason Andariel couldn’t have been given her entire kit either. I’ve also heard some people suggest Reno Jackson, who also seems like a reasonable replacement for Qhira.

So yeah, there are quite a few other established characters Qhira’s kit could fit just fine, so I’d rather have them.

If you only care about the kit, then you should have no problem if we just replaced Qhira with a hero more deserving of her kit and a place in HotS.

Orphea could be replaced with Selendis and her psionic crap just to start (and the Q word hero with any troll or Reno Jackson gang) but Orphea was something new and brought attention to Hots. Still I thought it was one time thing and now we have a generic LOL knockoff. Seriously thought it was LOL spotlight.

Warcraft 3 was not a game bringing in your favorite heroes from your favorite Blizzard worlds.

In a game like WC3 , the story is told through the campaign with our beloved warcraft characters (same goes to Diablo1/2/3 and SC1/2 for their respective characters)

In a game like HOTS , there is no story but all Blizzard characters coming from different dimensions and teaming up to beat the other ones in the other team

There is a big difference between singleplayer games and multiplayer games and that’s what usually seperates them , also consider the fact that most of the playerbase was here because of Blizzard characters not random nobodies , and now with the greatly reduced release times I don’t think it was a good idea to consider releasing yet another OC hero (In other words , Blizzard totally ignored the playerbase)

Like i said many many times, Overwatch heroes and Nexus heroes broke the Blizzard Universe Franchise, really simple, Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft.

Other then that a part TLV are BS to me.

I know this comment isn’t quite related, as you were replying to “no other hero really fits,” but I will note that this concept seems a far cry from the “iconic” and “beloved” that a lot of people are going on about.

around the next hero assuming its not another OC. however, it wont ever really be forgiven obviously and it will sit there festering in-game. then when they try to release another OC? it will be 100x worse.

…because like this time everyone will remember BW, Hammer, Morales, Lunara were all OC. Orphea being the first ‘nexus’ OC hero they released. only next time Qhira will be added on to the hate.

you see where thats going right? with so many other things ppl really want to see they could have literally released anything and ya some may have been unhappy but at least it would have been a recognized established hero with lore behind it from a blizz franchise. OC characters are just… kind of filler content.

…and filler content is often not very great.

^ This is the understatement of the year right here.

Not really. Selendis would be a melee assassin, not a mage. She doesn’t display any noteable psionic abilities at any point, but she does display impressive physical prowess in CQC.

The Void and the beings that hail from it are pretty iconic for WoW, so even a Void elemental, a minor Old God, or even a Void Elf or Shadow Priest would still fit in. They may be “new” characters, but they would be a representative of a well-known and pre-established class or unit with deep roots in WoW lore, much like Sgt. Hammer is the representative of the very well known and popular Siege Tank from Starcraft.

And if that still ain’t good enough for you, then you could go with the other 2 options I suggested, Andariel or Reno Jackson, who are definitely “inconic.”
