I want this tutorial to be added back into the game:
I notice a lot of players trying to run before they can walk in this game and that’s really annoying
(And no I am not talking about you JumpyLion because you are one of the best players I have come across)
This tutorial is good for teaching the most basic of things and there should be advanced tutorials that complement it
Every player should watch this video and learn the knowledge it has to offer

This one old tutorial was gold.

Nice story and easy to learn as well
Real effort went into making this compared to the current ones we have that most people just wanna skip
Yet still it is better than what we have now which is “haha go push 5 into the core vrrr”

Not ideal, but better than nothing.

I played that tutorial and Old Raynor was my fav back in 2015. I have him at level 5 since that and haven’t touched him much if any at all.
That is disappointing
You should play him more
He has been buffed a lot and even Carbot thinks highly of him:

Raynor is the true main character of Heroes of the Storm in my opinion
I liked him in his original version, the rework which streamlined him to the new design idea made Raynor a boring lane minion which people usually remember as “pre-rework Raynor”. I have nothing against the reworked Raynor actually, I just don’t really have any passion left for the character like I used to 5 years ago. That’s a long time, you know. Things change and I literally played any hero more than Raynor lately.
Raynor is based on the Terran Marine
Simple but effective
Marines actually ARE Ranged Minions on Braxis Holdout and Warhead Junction maps
Raynor is amazing right now and you are missing out
Raynor even has a Ghost Rider skin:

And Ghost Rider is awesome:

Kind of offensive the marines/minions in the old tutorial are just called “skeletons” (as seen on the video counter). Like Skeleton is just another word for a disposable meaningless thing to discard and kill. Leoric ought to file a lawsuit.
Should’ve seen him during the Warchrome update back in 2018. He dealt obscene damage. So much so that the talents enabling this had to be nerfed to the ground.
Did you know that Ace in the Hole used to deal 40% bonus damage? Currently it does 10% because turns even at 15% it was darn popular.
I have always been more of a Veteran Marksman myself so it never bothered me
I think in the video those actually were skeletons
Leoric wasn’t even around then XD
And speaking of lawsuits
Skeleton King in Dota 2 was reworked into Wraith King before due to a possible copyright infringement because of Skeleton King being Leoric himself in Dota 1
No offence but when i played that tutorial for the first time i thought Hots was a singleplayer game with Raynor as main char and all the other heroes you saw was bosses you had to kill
I was so wrong later.

That’s weird.
I mean, he used to not have a trait, and only 2 abilities. That felt a lot more like a minion to me. I didn’t play him back then because I found him boring.
Honestly this is why I want a single-player campaign for this game like Warcraft 3 did with Arthas as our main character
It was awesome
I think you might mean the 2015 rework of him. You see the original Raynor similar yet very different to the memetic lane minion people mocked for years. For example Hyperion didn’t have Yamato Cannon sieging structures as baseline, that was a level 20 upgrade. Your talent tree was also way more generic yet at the same time it provided some diverse specialization since you had 5 at every tier. Remember people being nostalgic of “Piano Uther”? The Raynor I’m talking about is from the same era. Back then abilities and stats scaled by a flat value instead of percentages and getting just a couple more kills put you in the major XP lead.
Anyways, think of original Raynor prior to the 2015 rework as Zuljin. You had lot of means to deal fat auto attack damage and could also be a semi-specialist who buffed their own team including minions and mercs considerably. Imagine a Raynor that had a level 1 quest scaling his damage infinitely, could increase his attack speed by 75% and more than double his damage while also dealing extra percentage damage per hit. Oh and at some point he could double the DPS of any minions or mercs near him if you combined this with Inspire. Due to how scaling worked his Hyperion also used to be way more oppressive, Battle Hyperion’s Yamato Cannon actually massacred towers and dealt some 40% damage to buildings IIRC.
So yes, pre-2015 Raynor was different. A whole lot different. The game design of HotS as a whole was different back then.
Your Raynor has me curious
I wish I could play as him and find out if he really is better than the current one we have now
