First of all, english is not my native language but considering on how deserted the forum of my language is (more than 1 year without topics and such), I’ll expose what i’ve been witnessing here.
I don’t know if my case is the same for you all but i’ve been encountering some bots. These, just as bots in other games, become very obvious:
- They do not pick traits
- They do not speak.
- They sit either top or bot lane for etternity, just autoattacking minions.
- If they, somehow, use a skill they use it at a random direction in which perhaps there is nothing at all. E.g, an azmodan shooting a ball to his own keep after losing 50% of his hp to minions alone.
- Spinning like crazy but at a constant rhythmn and speed.
- Sometimes they directly sit in the hall of storm, not reacting to pings. If the game kicks them, they come back and proceed to stay still for another 5 minutes.
This is becoming quite heartbreaking and sad. Yeah, i’ve been noticing the lack of love for this game, the rise and fall, as how i have heard it from other players of platforms but, nonetheless, despite all this there have always been a community playing.
But not anymore.
It just feel like like you press play to enter a game in which you have to guess: who is going to be afk this time? Will it be from our team or from their team (as everything exposed is NOT happening only for my team, of course)?
So…have anyone been experiencing something similar? Because i am startling to feel like the orchestra of the titanic, playing the music while the boat crashes into bots.
TLTR: Why are there bots emerging every single game, before they were not that popular.

Not really, but quite the opposite I feel that I get more low-level opponents and they are not all smurfs, but also some new ones. But I am on EU and it’s probably the best crowded game server for Hots, so I am might be biased and can’t speak for other regions.
Just because they don’t talk, doesn’t mean they are bots tho. They can simply be unexperienced, depends on the rank you’re playing in. I see a lot of unexperienced players.

Yeah, honestly, that was my first thought. But when it happened not one, or two, but more than fifteen times and they all followed the same exact pattern…Well, i’ve decided to point it that way. Probably i’m wrong, but i swear, the fact that they are so damn look-alike annoys me…
The best way would be, if you upload your replays on heroesprofile and then link your profile and then people can see for themselves.
I got no idea what you’re talking about.
On extremely rare occasions I’ll see a troll like a Stukov a while back who didnt pick any talents but was complaining about how the enemy heroes are OP.
All I can say is that as an EU player who mainly plays QM and ARAM that I have not seen what you describe, so either it’s a region based thing or a extremely low MMR thing or an SL thing.

I have seen it myself from replays of a bnet friend I had. He was B5 and half of his games had those kind of players. They would sit in a lane and auto attack minion waves until he was low on hp then walk away and do it again until he died.
Then rinse and repeat until game was over. They dont even react to pings or or calls in chat. Some of them would even die to towershots or die to enemy minion waves.
If those people are not bots then I have no clue. Properly some parent who allowed thier kid to play on the account and the kid have no clue what he/she is doing. But even that is actually againts the TOS casue account sharing is banable.
I haven’t seen bots like that, however I regularly come across other weird things.
Said bot was probably farming XP / levels, albeit not sure what’s the worth, especially as a low quality bot will rather quickly accumulate reports. So given the extra low amount of income (assuming you lose everything) makes it a rather bad business endeavour, despite the basic truth in anything greater than zero being greater than zero thus somewhat worth it.
So, well, tell me, that it was in VS AI coop! Pretty please!
The only scenario I would consider botting is VS AI Solo, given that nobody would report me. Not that I need currency, but I could try and improve my own AI. (Blizzard’s one is actually pretty smart when it allows itself, gotta love how it predicts movement, even side stepping.) Disclaimer, just in case: I have no AI.
if your bot doesn’t speak, sits on the top or bottom lane for eternity, spins like crazy and appears to be sitting in the hall of the storm, thats not a bot thats a TLV.
I think some players mistake bad or troll players for bots. I’ve been in games where someone said a player was a bot, only for the bot to reply in chat.
I wouldn’t be shocked to find out there are bots in VS AI, but outside of trolling, I don’t see the point in botting PVP modes and even if this is happening I doubt it’s rampant.
there used to be a bunch of these robots in ARAM. I haven’t seen one in a while actually.
Mentioning TF2 is extremely bizzare because one or them still has presence the other is stuck in a limbo after the pyro rework.
