The reason HOTS has been on a decline

Heroes of the Storm used to be its own game. It was different than other mobas because it was fast paced, centered on split pushing/map presence and the games themselves were short 10-15 minutes. The game was also unique in that it pulled characters from blizzard games only. Sadly over the past year and a half the game has taken a drastic turn towards League of Legends in an attempt to increase the player base, the most recent of these changes was the addition of a new hero forged from the HOTS world (huge mistake :confused:) . It is obvious to all players that this has actually decreased the player base. The health increase on forts and removal of turret ammo was a huge mistake and took away a distinct strategic aspect of the game. Developers have shifted the game from one that rewarded strategic counter-play to a team fight centralized game just like League of Legends… Increased sustainability of every hero and structures has increased game time to an average 20-30 minutes and has made players flee the game. Also, over the past year there have been reworks and tweaks to many characters to try and solidify each Hero into the “role” it is classified as. These changes also decreased the player base. It is cool to add and reduce dmg but changing talents on players favorite heroes has definitely had a negative impact on the player base.

The only way to revive HOTS is to revert back to the old ways of short games, blizzard only heroes and rewarding counter-play.

If you didn’t play during the BETA or the first half year of the release, then you missed out on a truly unique game.

Nothing Blizz can do will save hots. All mobas are loosing players due to other online games(mostly fortnite).I mean DOTA Lost 400k active players (from 1.2mil to 0.8m) in the last 2 years. Same for LoL(its why they invested so much money in commercials this year).Smite has problems as well.

Its just how things go. No change will save you from the dying sector of industry. Right now mobas are consolidating. That means only best AND most popular games remain. All others die. Same will prb happen to smite and only 2 giants will be left to duke it out.

Only idiots thing that mm,hero releases or "bad " balance kills moba. All moba have those(just seen a video about some disastrous LoL changes that ruined ok heroes and guess what, ppl made same posts in that video that i see here).This is a given for any moba.

edit:oh yeah since you made that last statement,here from first week. Still fun as when i started. Id leave the moment this game aint fun anymore.

It’s too team based, the other mobas are more solo

Lol wut, no, it never was.

Based on the amount of Orphea portraits I see on the forums, no it didn’t. If ppl “quit” because of certain Heroes (and not even because of their kits/powerlvl) they’ll come back when they release one of their long waited one.

Ammo was a bad mechanic. Why even have forts if they can just “dry out” and become “ruins” before their destruction? The only strategy which was removed with the ammo was not even a real strategy. Just mindless push be it active or passive.

You know, this game was advertised as a Brawler in the beginning, right?

Can you show me those buffs to the Heroes sustainability? No?

The average length was 13-15 minute. For an average, that was way too short. That’s called “stomp”. So they made changes which indeed lowered the rarity of the shortest games (ending under 13-15 minutes). But even with the changes, the average is 15-20 minutes and I basically never had a 30 minute game and calling that a part of the “average” is lying at worst and not understanding what average is at best.

Ever changimg talents and Heroes are core element of MOBAs. If you can’t accept that, this genre is not for you.

I’m from beta and I liked the game then as well, but it was kinda a lame game compared to what we have now.

I guess what I’m currently doing is “agitating” toward my point of view (and solution ?), but honestly I think both are “kinda” wrong, just need think out of the box
