What? The queue hasn’t even reached the estimation timer and it quickly switched to Expanding QM Search mode.
What’s wrong with this?

Basically means that the player count is so low, they have to throw out any balancing factors that are in place just so they can match players.
Basically means there’s no 20% tank and 20% support in a suitable mmr range in queue,
if it’s 465 assassins 21 tanks and 14 supports there will be enough people basically, but plenty people will have to wait for another tank/support or loosened mm rules.
Basically means hope you didn’t expect a good game.
Expanding QM Search is meant for loosened MM rules, and not role composition?
So this means I might still get a Tank ally but he may be a bad tank?
No, it means that the whole change of “1 tank, 1 healer, 1 ranged DD” rule is thrown out the window and you’ll get anything.
Happened to me while doing some QM’s late at night couple days ago. Had a glorious 5v5 assassin game on GoT. Only difference was they were full of mages and I was Zeratul.

It means the matchmaker doesn’t care about anything anymore. The stupid comp can’t work but they won’t bother with skill either. It just YOLOS you into a group. Any group, any people, any thing… whatever wherever … whoever… however.
mm is roles and mmr matching, until now people didn’t necessarily play worse when search was extended in my games, but comps are possibly wonky to say the least.
I know what it means but its bull crap that it places you in the expanding search almost immediately though. Should only kick in after going past the estimated wait timer, not 5 seconds after pushing start…
It amazes me that Blizzard takes forever to make changes and when they finally come the changes are shallow with what seems like minimal effort.
Who would of thought that banning people if they detected as much as an eye roll from you when a team mate abandons a lane pre-10 to chase a kill.
The funny thing about HotS is that a Blizzard Allstar game was such gold its kind of stupefying how they messed it up. Like it should of been a hit w/o hardly having to do anything. Most blizzard fans would of given a kidney to play as Sylv or Thrall or any other multitude of heroes on a game.
Yet it never got off of the ground.
It really puts into perspective when you see how horrible they were at blizzcon this year that the issue is most of the good staff has left Blizzard years ago and we have the left overs running the ship into the ground.
Expanding mean i am looking for a very horrible game for you bro, enjoy it.
Means you’re going to have a bad time. Best to come back later.
Means QM matchmaker was tired matching these quality comps kek. Re-queue or play in Brawl for a while.
Would be nice if you could opt out of expanded search parameters. Some people would rather just wait 20 minutes while alt tabbed watching twitch for a good game.
True. I don’t mind watching dog video at youtube during the queue.
It’s expanding after 30 seconds because people were whining about queue times.
You underestimate the power of computers. The system kicks in cause it doesn’t have a match for you. It already knows this the instant you push the button.
Waiting any longer than 30s is not necessary or even desired.
Yes, I was one who didn’t mind the extra wait, these expanded matches are horrible.
The problem is that at lower levels, there are only 1-2 tanks available at any time hero wise, plus mirror match protection. Seeing some…weird games (just got roflstomped by a full 5man premade).
The MM may know instantly that there isn’t a match for me at the time i queue but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t wait a minute or two before expanding for more players to enter queue and find me a better match.
