The end of Hots. This moment has come

Well, here comes the moment when no one is no longer hiding and it became known to everyone that in any Hots mode no longer observed the game balance, the players are too few, the game is played only in aram 220 level smurfs with a creep on the avatar, and basically everyone began to give a damn about Hots, as the meaning of games as such finally lost.

And only one thing I do not understand, why the local old modders, who themselves have long ago no longer play the game - continue to sit here on the forum, dialoguing with themselves and answering themselves. Why are they still needed?

Is this the BBC news?
Are you Blast?

My view of the first paragraph is different, but what do you mean about the second?
Surely you don’t think that the regulars here are moderators? There is no modding either.

I personally have a lot of posts because after certain sessions it helps to vent. Kind of journaling. It’s nice to be here to listen to each other. Or was.

When I log into HotS, my friends list shows a number of people playing, the vast majority in SL or QM, with only one or two in ARAM or AI. The big change for me was joining an amateur league (95 teams being fielded this season of all ranks from B5 through GM). There are 12 teams in my division, meaning that every week I can guarantee a very competitive series. When we aren’t playing league matches, we hold scrimmages against other teams around our skill level, practice new heroes in SL or QM, or hold events such as open houses, in-houses, or league wide events. For example, this Saturday will see a 1 day tournament called “Cupid’s Colosseum” being played by the Nexus Gaming Series. Last Friday, the organization my team is a member of hosted an open house, and had 30-50 people on at any given time playing custom matches.

Because this league has a very active and diverse community, I have made friends with any number of people of various skill levels from other teams. Every night of the week, there are people I can play with (and against!).

Rather than crying about what we don’t and can’t have, I recommend going out and looking for what we can build.

Was the OP written by an AI? It looks like a broken ChatGPT prompt.

Seems like it. The translation/modifiers are very different than their previous posts.

Granted, OP wasn’t much for reading other posts as is, but it certainly looks like they don’ even bother to read their own.

There’s… more than one thing you don’t understand here. Since some information has interconnected elements to other information (ie, ‘universal truths’) if you’d stop being scared of reading, you might find yourself understanding a lot more than you presently do. Funnily enough, the more people ‘know’ the more they end up realizing how much they don’t.

If you manage to get over your HotS bias – what brought around here again? – you’d actually find that a number of discussions and advise given here is applicable to other games, and other hobbies. It’s almost like some people have figured out how to communicate with other people instead of assuming the rest of the world is rife with npc’s to stall someone who managed to end up in a support role in their own life.

I play Hots, probably too much, as it’s infinitely replayable IMO, even in its mostly retired form.

If you took the time to read through various threads, you would know the majority who post here, do continue to play Hots. They share replay’s, screenshots, edited clips, etc., of them playing. You are conflating a tiny minority of those who post regularly, who have stated they no longer play Hots. I can, in fact, only think of two regular posters who no longer play Hots.

I’ll give you props for using the term “modders”, but you clearly are using this as a placeholder for “forum hive mind, white knights.” But, yeah, it’s a welcome change of descriptor. Not even you would think any regular here is a moderator and if you play Hots like you say, you know there is no modding, with ROTS being its own thing.

If you had only posted the first paragraph, we could perhaps have a good faith discussion about the current state of Hots. However, your second paragraph makes it clear you are here to argue and assign blame to a boogeyman you have conjured in your head, but which doesn’t exist in the reality outside your brain.

This is a persistent pattern in your post history, so I’m not drawing this conclusion based on that one paragraph.

*In my GG thread, you will find many high post count players sharing replays, and clips, screenshots, of their current matches.

Silence, Queen of the Commune. Logic is unwelcome here.

Can microsoft revive this game please? I’ll give monies to this game again I promise

Pfft, why be a Queen when you can be an Empress?

I’ll pass on Queen and Empress, and remain in my current position as “Fabricator of Fluff.”

This whole “commune” thing is just so totally cool. These people make it sound like we’re a bunch of hippies, yet there is a distinct lack of err, mind alerting substances, so in reality we’re just a group of randoms on an undead forum.

Several guys here have 20 tweens each, including some with 10k+ posts, I wouldn’t be surprised if the most popular users who of course still play Hots are the 4-5 people who answer themselves.

That’s most likely the way it is.

Oh yeah, and 1 bored doing nothing dev who started fearing he was going to get fired when he rolled out an update after half a year :smirk:

Yet it’s well known (and sometimes confirmed by the users themselves) that many low post accounts “talk” to their alts, to bump posts, or to troll, or make it seem like a complaint they are making has wide support by liking their own posts.

These posters are in a minority, and I don’t assume that someone with a low post account is automatically a troll, no more than I would assume that someone with a high post count doesn’t play Hots, as you claim.

I already proved that claim you made was false, yet your reply conveniently skips over that detail and takes another predictable swipe at “high post count” users.

It’s boring, we have often agreed, but you have willfully ignored that, because “high post count, white knight forum poster, who don’t even play Hots.”

Dull, dull, dull.

You mean 5 ppl talk with each other on 5 unique accounts, or 5 ppl talk with their own selves on multiple alt accounts?

I’m sure BB will reply with an insightful clarification of that whacky statement, and also provide solid evidence to back up this latest claim.
