The Decline of HotS

You might not like hgc but alot of people do, and that scene was only growing. You can blame the lack of hero diversity on blizzard tbh, the lack of balancing around this level and apparent things going unchanged for up to a year sometimes. If they ignore the pro level that means they ignore grandmaster and master levels aswell, the skill level will decline, streamers will quit/less promotion, good players will drop, the game will be shlt. You are not gonna have a stable game with only casuals who arent nearly as dedicated to the game.

Not sure how to feel about HGC.
I like to watch it and it is definitively good for a game to have the pro scene, streamers, etc.

But on the other hand, back in Beta and before they started to catering to the esports, the game was more fun, not only 5v5 brawler.

LOVE BLIZZARD GAMES. always have, since that demo Diablo 1 back in like 96 or something. Still play -classic- SC (from time to time) to this day, just great game designers!

I’ve been a big MOBA fan, it’s where I do well besides RTS, for which I started with League during its beta. I don’t League now cuz it’s been dumbed down to derp, but … to the OP:

Heroes has got to be the worst MOBA I’ve ever played, even moreso than the use map settings versions I’ve seen.
It is GRANDIOSE and Beautiful, enjoyable and far reaching selection of the Blizzard characters (like Smash Bros does). It is a solid - Game.

MATCHMAKING IS JUST AWFUL.
getting faced up against 3 FULL TANKS, we couldn’t even touch them lol, a few deaths to our base being shut down.

But where it fails, is the BORING and DULL gameplay, cheezy objectives that aren’t worth their time til at least halfgame, toooo narrowed down of selections.

Combat really feels so very much like, “watch for these areas of effect” and “their stuns are on cd”. Like, I were playing an android version of the full effect. There’s color, and diversity, but ultimately comes down to damage target - damage area - cc. yawn THERE’S SO MUCH MORE TO MOBA!

Seems where my heart begins to falter for Heroes, where my confidence and hope wanes, is how they seem not to care to really pioneer the next level of gaming in MOBA by making teamfighting and compositions be ever growing in diversity. They instead seem to be trying to ‘finish’ the game like they have SC. For such a game, a polish is what we seek.
For MOBA - it’s a pirates adventure on the rocky seas, we want mountains gandolf, Mountains!

I think I get the feeling the Dev team is a bit scared as to which direction to go, or how to stand out, something. Just - a LACK, lackluster.

I play Hots cuz everyone plays it.
That’s really it. Really.

If that goes, so do I :frowning:
Poor Blizzard…

I don’t like HGC and i hate too much changes (Stealth, Ammo, Removing Specialists) and reworks (Tassa, Rehgar and etc.) for HGC. If Blizzard remove HGC maybe they again start focusing on balanace and maybe they could return fun element in the game. I see only pros if they remove it.

I couldn’t care less about HGC but I sure hope the rest of the game won’t suffer because of its death.

Enough with the esport craze already, Blizz. Do what your fanbase liked about your games before. Make them lovable and fun again. Bring the lore, bring the fun gameplay.

OW suffers from the same problem.

It’s no coincidence that blizzards most successful Esport is the one game that they specifically designed without Esports in mind (Hearthstone), and the games specifically designed to be Esports are on life support (SC2, HotS) if you make a fun and popular game competitions will form themselves. It doesn’t work the other way around.

Wasn’t Overwatch designed for E-sports? But yeah SC2 was a flop… I always wonder if Blizzard themselves are disappointed with the results of SC2, and how it’s getting outlived by its 12 year prequel.
