Also this, I play QM mostly because I get to play the exact hero I want, I don’t play it because it’s a quick queue.
If I wanted a quick queue in a mindless environment I’d play AI.

That’s because the quartback is the playmaker and shotcaller like the tank.
The tank controls what the team does, it’s why tanks are generally are making calls in HGC, because their cooldowns, far more than any assassin’s cooldowns, can end or save a life.
How bout instead of dreading new tanks, embrace and learn with them. I’ve seen plenty a new malganis and I’ll tellthem they go too ham and die in unfavorable circumstances, but I’d much rather have a new tank than a level 400 assassin god if it means we have a balanced comp to work with.

I have to agree with this.
5 second queue times for 15 minute stomp fests have hurt this game far more than long queue times ever could have. It made several heroes practically unplayable in QM, such as Malthael and Auriel.
I personally know 2 people who stopped playing solely because of the QM matchmaker’s incompetence. I’m fairly certain that if quality and balance had never been cut for speed, they’d still be playing.
I’ll take 5 minute queues if that’s what it takes to be able to enjoy 90% of my matches again. Luckily, new MMing barely bumps queue times up over 30 seconds.
'Course, I’m not having all that much luck in QM as it is, but that’s mainly because rangers, most specialists, and mages are still being lumped in the same “Ranged Assassin” category together. Not sure whose idea that was, but they aren’t too bright.

Yes, and plenty of people playing “tanks” aren’t really tanking either. >.>
Boring draft. And draft is hard to pull off in this game. One wrong ban or choice and you are toast. No one likes knowing they have way lower chance to win due to bad draft.
This cant be just ignored and needs a LOT of time to learn. And whats worse you need to keep learning due to all the changes. That is a lot knowledge you need just so that you have some resemblance of good teams.

Hey, am fine with tanks. I prefer them. (I dislike Malganis though, because he is blatantly OP). The only thing I dont like when I am playing a tank is when people REFUSES to follow up or listen. Nothing more frustrating then playing a johanna for example and getting a good pull and having your KT cast his empowered pillar of flame late as hell or Jaina NOT using Ring of frost.

As someone who had to fill tank or Healer in HL for 90% of my games this season, I highly endorse this statement.

This is the problem with every “since alpha”. You assume everyone wants to be pro level, HL players. Some people enjoy play QM with their friends as an outlet, not a job. I prefer assassin to tank, and tank more than heals. I play, i bounce around, but for fun, not for bettering my skills. That’s why i play QM. The game is now broke for me. I’m sure it’s perfect for you, but they effectively isolate and cut out the casual player to make QM behave like draft.

Never said it was a job, you are simply rewarded with better queue times if you play one particular class that’s in short supply to help the enjoyment of everyone else in the game.
At that point there is solo-AI right there, because if you are not trying to better yourself at the game you are hindering everyone else on your team.
Unfortunate.
Because you have longer queue times as an assassin.
Let me give you a picture:
You’re at Disney world, new ride popped up, everyone absolutely adores it, but the wait time is 10 hours. But while that’s going on there are plenty of other rides that have less than 5 minute wait times, simply walking to the ride consumes more time than waiting and those rides are just as fun.
Are you saying that Disney world is ruined for you because other people want to ride the same ride as you?
I basically only play QM, I am staunchly against draft and ranked because often people will accumulate 20x more salt unless I play with a group of 5 people I can trust that communicate the information needed.
I’m about as casual as they come and even I recognize the importance to better yourself for your teammates. It’s like a relationship, no one wants to date a depressed deadbeat loser that doesn’t want to improve himself or herself. It’s why you gotta pick yourself up and simply get better at the game.
Mate this is a valid argument. But why play mobas if you want to do this. I can tell you quite a few online free games that give you a better exp then ANY moba when played like this.
First is Warframe that is ez and even loot is equally shared(all can pick a item at the end from all 4 that the team earned).World of tanks is similar tho P2W but its casual as hell unless you are in a top tier clan.
Like this type of game is worst one for what you want. MMO are better as well.Sport,race.Pick something and its prb better.
There is a reason all mobas lost their casual quick mode. Aint sure how it was named in lol but they shot that mode down.
This is the moba community. We play this game to compete. And we prb will till the end.Its why to the very end we complain to blizz to change qm MM. Nearly everyone wanted to have better QM mm and not bother with 5 min draft for witch you need deep knowledge about the game and hero synergy.
Just give us a semblance of team and let us figure out how to win. Aint that the competitive spirit.
If you like mindless buttons smashing why are you playing a game that specifically requires team coordination to win?
Why are you not going to vs AI or to a completly different game made for that porpouse (you can find tons of them and they’re fun)?
What you are just saying is “I’m going to sign up with those strangers for filling one of their team for a friendly match of basket, but then I will just run around aimlessly throwing the ball everywhere because I’m having fun!”
How could you think people will react to that? You can, of course, do whatever you want but you’re just doing it in the wron way.
rather wait a minute or 2 longer and have a more balanced match than a 15 minute lopsided whooping. That goes for either side, not really fun roll stomping a team in 9 minutes, when deep down you know it likely wasn’t skill but the comps…
hmm I hate warframe dont want to play it. Part of having fun is playing something you want.
I hate how everyone that whined about quickmatch for ever now is on a righteous cause to stamp out casual fun (go play ai). I’m not here for a brainless into ai match. As we speak I have been in queue for the last 5 minutes for quick match. Time to uninstall goodbye highhorses!

I don’t know, I play QM only. But from what i heard, I was under the impression that people are more willing to form a proper comp, than the QM matchmaker.
This change is the reason I’m playing again after leaving for 6 months. I could care less about a 5 min que time because it results in both myself and my friends plying HOTS again.

I agree with him though. HOTS is still a game, not a job and you don’t need to get better at the game to enjoy it. If he has fun at his level of play, why should he improve?
And you don’t know if he will have fun as healer or tank, because those classes play differently than Asassins. And if he has fun killing enemies, he won’t get that with those roles.
Also, who says that his teammates doesn’t see it the same way as him, when it comes to improving at the game.
This is ridicilous, it doesn’t only increase the waiting times, but it’s really mixing people from lower ranks, just to fill the role.
Since the patch, I am getting really weird teams, like very low level players (below 100 level and when I ask they admit they are not smurfs and it’s obvious from their playstyle).
I agree with Nino, let’s add checkbox to people who wants to have balanced team or who wants to play with players in similar ranks.
Now, when I press Ready I cannot queue into any game, because I am receiving message “This queue is currently full, blah blah, please queue as a needed role”, so the game doesn’t even allow me to play with character that I want.
WTF? I just want to play my character, why I cannot play it? I don’t care we don’t have support, nor tank, the enemy team doesn’t have it neither, it’s still a fair game.

Ok, I don’t disagree with this.
That’s where issues pop up.
If you are a really low standing level paired with other players that don’t want to improve, that’s perfectly fine, you are having fun, no one is against you for having fun.
The problem stems from people not actually trying in modes in which you are ranked by how much you try.
How would people know if they don’t play tanks or supports.
Not true, I’ve killed more than my fair share of people with deletion diablo popping squishies.
That’s not anyone elses problem if he’s always matched with teammates that are like him, however I would never want to be matched with someone that doesn’t want to learn the basic concepts of the game.
For example, I play a tank, I’m matched with this guy whom plays a mage “casually”. I setup with a great teamwide stun, he is there autoing a minion because reasons.
I don’t expect people to be god level at playing the game, but people that only want to play all assassin are not the people that want to play as a team nor recognize the importance of tanks and healers.

Game compositions are still far from perfect, but they are exponentially better than before.
If that means you are going to uninstall, then so be it. Don’t ruin the significantly better games that are now occurring because of it. My queue times are only 2-3 minutes when playing Assassin, and that’s because everyone and their mother wants to hog the glory instead of playing for the team. Play any other role and your queue times will tank.
