Teach Me to Rehgar

the real question is what your rank could be if you only played him in qm.

(I still want to do a rehgar art game tho)

Ironically enough, I had time for two QM this morning, but since I had a Diablo quest, I ended up playing Tyrael!

But I seriously do want to work on Rehgod, and when not Rehgodding, I would love to be the Artanis benefiting from your Rehgar’s Bloodlust. The Alterac Pass SL we did when I was playing AA build ETC was too much fun.

Well, if you’re Rehgar and you start attacking, your team definitely will.

Then you will either have an EPIC victory or an EPIC death.

By brother kept harassing me for playing Rehgar back in the day, saying I would like him. He was right!

Like you said, pretty solid healer overall.

  1. W build is still the most popular build at diamond and master. Pretty good build overall. A lot of his talents are good though imo. You should not have so much mana problem with W at 4.

  2. Yea can’t go wrong with some more speed at 1, saved my life a few time. W at 4 is decent, at 7 it’s pretty strong if you don’t need cleanse, at 16 you can be scary vs multiple high hp heroes.

  3. Yea you should be in wolf form whenever cooldown is up, run around, be ready to attack a bit when you see an opening. You can help your ranged dps who struggle a bit vs the out of position bruiser, or full dive when your team is winning to secure victory and chase runners.

I think totem at 4 is pretty decent too for more healing, but you lose some mana if you don’t take W at 4, so matter of preference. BL still seem to be the most popular, I’m still not sure about impoved AH at 20, shield seem safer.

If ennemy team got a lot of AA and not so many cc, I suggest trying E build which if funny. E at 7 is OP in that situation imo lol

How to play Reghar: do not pick.

Question on totems: What is the optimal usage for those in a team fight? I know how to use them when we want to disengage, or chase down a straggler, and I do use them to tank a few tower shots if we want to get a start on structure damage while waiting for a wave or objective to show up. I will sometimes use them as a Lightning Shield target to get a little mana back. But I am not sure when/how to use them best in a team fight, as they seem to die pretty fast, and unless the enemy team has melee assassins, they don’t feel like they are having much effect for the amount of mana they cost.

I have gone up against Rehgars who use the totem talents to good effect (damn that 90% slow!), but am never sure if I would be better off using my “standard” talents and just not bothering with totems in a big dogpile.

Use them to peel for someone that is getting focused, this may slow the enemy push, or use them for extra CC chain.

So, in other words, just use it =)

Note that the second shield is untalented (apart from the stacking damage of this talent, itself).

I love Shield build Rehgar. It’s good to go if you have good frontline.

Just go W, W, Cleanse, BL or AH, W, W, BL or Storm Shield.

Rehgar is a good all arounder Healer, good to know that you want to learn him, Hoku.

W build is most often picked the most simply because it’s versatile.

At level 1, you can pick a talent based on the situation, but W talent at 1 is more often than not picked, it can be used generally anywhere while the Wolf talent is more for larger maps.

The totem talent is great if you want to peel for allies or if you’re going for a utility build.

At level 4, both the Healing Totem and the W mana return are both great, can conserve mana when you need them most or trying to take camps.

At level 7, cleanse is most often the better pick but if you aren’t against stun lock comps then the Wolf talent is great, the AA speed reduction totem is decent but not often because the totem gets destroyed too fast in a fight.

At level 10, Ancestral Healing if you really need the big burst heal while Bloodlust for dive / AA comps.

At level 13, the cooldown reduction for Q is the better pick, however the additional healing for Q below 50% health is good against poke comps.

At level 16, all three talents are good for their situations but for a general use, it’s better to take Earthgrasp Totem.

At level 20, all are great, even the ult upgrade for Ancestral.

Rehgar is one of the few Healers capable of taking mercenary camps by themselves, take advantage of that.

Heres some key point based from my experience.

  • reghar is in the top 10 strongest AA in the game. This causes 2 things.

  • he’s a great finisher , specially on fleeing targets. If someone flees like a tracer just go wolf and chase them , once in range , you’ll hit them for a minimum of 600dmg (lvl 20 ). In many cases , this much damage is lethal on low health targets.

  • he’s a great 1v1 . people underestimate how good reghar is in 1v1. On many occasion ive went 1v1 vs quira , tracers , and other annoying assassins and killed them.

  • w build is great if your team has good front lines.

  • wolf build is good on large maps / or when enemy has high health/ armor targets like garrosh or deathwing.

  • i use totem when i the first 2 cases dont apply much. Like 4 assassins 1 healer. Comps or such. It helps locking down the kills.

  • bloodlust is a fantastic tool for both offense and defense. You want to gank enemy team ? Bloodlust ! Your team is getting ganked? Bloodlust again !
The movement speed bonus makes it that you can normally run away fast enough that they wont catch you and your team.

  • regahr is a late game hero. His healing is subpar early game , but scale really well once you hit higher levels. But his AA are good at all level .

  • shield build and wolf are 2 great duelist builds .

  • the fact that your wolf form is instance allows you to be more aggressive during fights and get away safely in case you get slowed or stunned. But its easy at first to get over confident because of it and stay too long and die lol.

  • no , cleanse isnt always mandatory lol

  • have fun !

If you go E on 7, place them the same if you do with Varians banners just slightly to the side. But mostly just drop them on them after someone CC’s

Thanks all for the help. I really appreciate it, and think I am getting the hang of him!

I need to AA on him more, though. I find myself getting too caught up in healing, picking the appropriate W target, and fitting in bites where appropriate, I forget I can just right-click things, too. But I am really enjoying his kit now, and may have a new go-to healer!

When those things are muscle memory, you’ll start to optimize your AA and bites.

Sadly, we lost that match, but it was a good one, so I can’t complain. We did get their core to 57%, and I feel like we were outplayed in the late game, rather than anyone threw or made a stupid mistake. While I certainly prefer winning, losing a really good match is more fun than winning a complete stomp.
