so, this game has this lovable and cuddly bear named Misha.
i gave her a try in a few games and so far its been really fun !
the gameplay is challenging and im always thinking and paying attention to my positioning and spacing with both Misha and Rexxar and this i something i noticed im loving alot ! ( sometimes i forget about it then fail horribly but eh, im still learning
)
id love to get some imput from other players on the different builds and options , like when X build is typically more optimal then Y or certain talents and such as well the good habits to learn early on as well as the bad habits to unlearn/ avoid as soon as possible.
thank you !

Man I really wish Misha was her own hero…

If you bad at mana pick hungry bear
There is a nice combo with him that is W Q AA that gives a tiny amount of burst
If you repeat that you can win most lanes
Let misha do the running and dirty work, she has 15% increased movespeed
If you D rexxar she will follow you
Both ults are good, just dependable on what you are better at
Easypray if you wanna solo the boss, you can do the boss with easy pray and hungry bear at lvl 7 , just takes some practice and map awareness
Bird of pray for double soaking
Flare is good vs samuro

Bind her trait (move) button to left mouse, move Rexxar with right mouse button. No exhausting the keyboard.
Hunter-Gatherer is a great talent giving her permanent armor when you get 25 globes (very easy on Braxxis, which is his/her best map anyway). Animal Husbandry is very risky and if you die later on you have no lv4 talent.

I am pretty terrible at Misha, my APM is rubbish, but one trick I learned when playing her is that Alt+D will recall her to Rexxar’s location. This can be very helpful when trying to reposition her quickly.

Use Misha as a meat shield when throwing out birds. Keep her constantly in front of you in close range. Heroes with linear skillshots can’t touch you at all. Even if she dies she will respawn fairly fast.
Oh, and if you’re fighting someone, use heal instantly at 99% hp. It will drop lower, but now you get the heal over time and the cooldown for her next heal is already counting down. Kind of parallel to the trick of tapping well at high HP before a fight.

[T1222113,Rexxar] is the build I generally go with and scales the best for late game teamfights.
All of his 4 talents besides Animal Husbandry are really good when you pick them against the right comps. Hunter-Gatherer is generally very useful because permanent armor can never be underestimated and the regen is amazing for early game. Block and Hungry Bear are laning flexes if you’re having issues keeping soak up. Husbandry is a huge meme that makes you play like a coward forever and if you die once towards the end of the game it’s completely wasted.
Aspect of the Hawk is easily his strongest 13 talent. Land Qs consistently to upkeep your attack speed buff, 125% is massive and you’ll be outputing assassin-tier damage with it. It’s the reason you also want to take Taking Flight at 7 for the general QoL it gives over an improved slow. And with the movespeed talent at 16 you won’t have any issues keeping pace with or a distance from enemies.
For storm talents Kill Command is actually really good if you think your team is capable of bursting people down after they get rooted. It’s a strong talent but generally wasted if there’s no follow up. Hardened Skin is always a good flex to negate burst damage if the enemy team relies on it, too.
But otherwise I pick Frenzy just to make you an absolute fighting beast. There’s not many heroes that can fight you fairly when you’ve got your AA speed going and even less so if Misha is alive and fighting with you. Between Misha slow and Thrill of the Hunt you become pretty untouchable.
Don’t fall for the soloing boss build meme. Only time I would even consider PvE or bear talents are on BHB where you want to be playing the HotS campaign mode. Otherwise your PvE is already serviceable enough for you to take camps comfortably. Your job isn’t to try and sneak boss, it’s to soak lanes and bully people. And as Rexxar the enemy team tends to be far more aware of you being missing on Boss maps than even heroes like Illidan or TB Varian, so going for Boss just causes them to make a b-line for you.
He can be pretty micro intensive compared to other heroes because you’re managing two bodies and with the speed Rexxar attacks and moves with this build it can be very easy to lose a lot of dps if you aren’t microing properly.
It cannot be understated that he is an absolute laning god. Misha gives you globe control like few others and you can freely poke them with Rexxar because between Q slow and W you’ve got plenty of tools to keep a fight in your favor.
Be very aware of what enemies have stacking talents and try to keep Misha away from them, bear can be an active detriment to your team if all you’re doing is giving your opponents early quest completions.
Misha is amazing at cutting off choke points, especially on maps like BoE. Even if you don’t have the micro skill to body block people properly W lets her jump over people and cut off their escape route, now they’re forced to either focus your bear or fight.

Great thing is that the talents adept
If you take a lot of dmg imposing presence
If you die a lot as rexxar fake death
If your doing good with both heroes the other talent
I advice staying out of Q build because misha is the true hero
Try to win the xp game first and the fight as a secondairy goal

That’s almost how it was back for his tweaks.
Rexxar AA is really strong right now and while W is a good ability it just does not match the DPS you’re capable of with AotH.
Bear is tanky but that’s about all she has going for her. Just a big meat wall with 1 ability and a slow self heal. The problem with going full bear build is your ult choice. Misha’s not a very big threat on her own and can often be straight up ignored, so typically you want Bestial Wrath to make her scary. But now it’s like you’re talenting to be a tank except you don’t have a real play making ult and that can feel terrible during fights.
Boars is a great ult. 40% slow for 5 seconds that often hits most of their team isn’t anything to scoff it, usually far more than enough time to either let your team engage or break off as they like. Going full Bear mode deprives you of this ranged CC and can make trying to choose your fights a lot more uncomfortable.
If you can’t land Q consistently enough for taking talents for it to be worth it then I highly recommend practicing until you can.
Might not be much credit but I’m friends with a GM Rexxar main and even he doesn’t bother with Bear, it’s far better to utilize her as a disposable meat shield to have a stronger control over fights than to bank all your talents on her staying alive and fighting.

Basically, you can’t be everywhere like Abathur, but you can be fully at 2 different points. I’d recommend practicing little details that will allow you to not lose time too much.
For example, if there’s a point to be on, you can go as rexxar (or Misha, depends on how confident you are) and keep the other in lane. That way, 2 people need to be in your lane (in Dragon Shire or Braxxis for example) which means the rest of your team will have an easier time.
On some maps (like Garden of Terrors) you can do 2 camps at once (easy and hard) because misha can get one and rexxar the other, wichi means that your team doesn’t have to invest that much in helping you (they will and should though).
It also helps when you need to get to tap, or a globe, because you hold true presence (unlike Abathur) while you do something else.
I’m pretty confident when I’m 1v2 or 1v1, or when I need to pve. However, I won’t be able to help much when it comes to fighting with your team, as I have a hard time doing that as Rexxar ^^

I play with quick cast on everything.
So one time I was talking with someone on here and realized quick cast isn’t default for his trait.
I turned it off to give it a try, and it is hell.
#1 most important thing for playing Rexxar, turn quick cast on for his trait at least.
