Stop sugar coating with "your not so special"

Instead of stating “You’re fine posting in the Salt Mines.” You’re not so special that your rage deserves its own thread.

why dont you also state “your too defective you dont deserve feed back for this game.”

legit salt mines isnt a thread made for feedback its just made for a crappost thats all there is too it. If you feel so offended about people whining about failures why dont you try just killing the community itself by giving worse feedback. Legit if you love salt mines thread it must mean you love to shower the lower ranks with crappost and misinform a community with copypastas. There has to be that one specific player that loves to do this right? If you guy hate giving feedback give something far worse and worse build ups as well.

Welcome to Blizzard. They have a quite impressive online communism regime. They will censor or remove anything they deem “offensive” (most likely this comment too, since I had a few removed already). You’re talking about killing the community it’s quite amusing. They have, and actively been doing it. Hell, you should be afraid to even talk anything ingame as their report system won’t discriminate, and any appeal will be dealt by a cold blooded game master who is bored of his job will try to find anything miniscule in your chat history to use it as a basis to deny your appeal.

how long has it been since the last “character buffing or nerfing” or “added skins.” or “added characters” has it been? Also how long until microsoft notices this dead game? Atm there arent many staff of this game that would care to notice…since maybe all staff from this game has been probably called out from microsoft. Few of the community exists… but is this game breathing…? or is it just worms inside a coffin with no undertaker/graveskeeper to moderate the cemetary of this game? Until microsoft notices this game the report probably half works there isnt any slander in this game unless blizzard cares about the “lower ranks” about how the higher ranks treats them. Legit Im not hearing anything from microsoft and blizzard if they are keeping the game active. Why care about lower ranks if lower ranks dont give them the money?

Also further proof that staff team have been called out from microsoft if you check the the buttons from the ranking system like the leaderboards they dont work when you click to know who they are in the game. Literrally it just shows leoric being a janitor. So legit thats just blizzard stating sorry but we “retired.” from heroes of the storm. Microsoft told us heroes of the storm dont need us anymore.

You put it perfectly. This game is dead. At this stage is worms crawling in the coffin. Soon they’ll have nothing to feed on too. Hots is a corpse that had s much potential ruined by a ruthless company that punished the playerbase more than actually improving the game. No idea if Microsoft has any plans, but apparently they’ve just put a random Dev to oversee this dead game in his spare time

I’m under the impression you aren’t aware that the game was sacked years ago based on your concerns about “feedback”. So, in case this is new for you: the game has been in official "maintenance mode’ for years and only has a ‘janitor’ to clean a few things every few months.

The current trend isn’t that microsoft is sacking HotS, but actually adding additional support since there’s been an increase in features returned to the game. Brawls are on a regular rotation, patches have been routinely seasonal, and a ‘new’ skin has been added despite a dearth of little else prior to that.

The ‘salt mines’ topics aren’t for posting feedback to a non-existence dev-staff, it’s for venting. The topic outright says that : > A non-serious thread for free venting

If you’re not going to read much into the game’s ‘reality’, what little activity remaining on a dead forum of a dead game probably aren’t going to put as much effort into translating your posts as they did in years prior.

Why are you offended over a thread that is designet for people to let out thier steam instead of spamming the forum with 200+ individual topics. Seems like you are just trolling.

No, it’s automated, just like the in-game report system. You have to thank the fellow forumites for spam-reporting you; they tend to do that when they disagree with you.
There’s a threshold that you have to break before you become pretty much immune to reports; that’s why those with hundreds/ thousands of posts eagerly reporting others also commit a lot of spam / trolling, and reporting them does nothing. Bliz/Acti lock once in a while some threads (so there might be some modmin reading the posts once in a while, to check for illegal stuff) but the bulk of the censorship is just some individuals likely hoping to pressure others into leaving the forums. It’s pretty much like being a newbie in an old(er) PvP game.

I don’t understand the purpose of this post…

The salt mines weren’t created by Blizzard (Otherwise, there’d be one in every games’ forum) they likely don’t even know it exists. It’s a thread like any other, and it hasn’t always been there.

If that was true, every thread would be closed, as there’s always someone who’s going to disagree. Also, if you report a post that has nothing wrong with it, nothing will happen.

That’s also incorrect, people with REALLY old accounts (That I won’t name, we know who they are) have had their accounts suspended when they acted out of line. Nobody’s ever immune. A system where X number of posts protects you from actions on your account would be very illogical. Everyone would eventually know what the umber is, and then the forums would turn into the chat of a game of DotA.

Makes sense. I see the same people usually posting in this dead forum for years as if they’ve had nothing better to do with their time but turn this forum into their own private chat room reporting away everyone they don’t agree with. Many of these popular names here in this forum I swear I’ve seen them since almost 10 years ago. They’re still here, still snobby, still flagging your comments/posts. And in no time will do the same, or post a snarky reply trying to seem like some sort of smarthead.

I have no idea what is going on. I just wanted to post in this thread

It’s not entirely automated.

  • There’s some automated system to curb botspam on the forums, that may also incidentally flag user conduct if it resembles certain actions.
  • There’s community automated actions if it exceeds a particular threshold.
  • There’s still a moderator here that may act on community flags, or may act of their own volition.

There’s notifications of the different type of actions taken, though the messages don’t linger where like/reply notifications do. Moderation and community activities have green icons, instead of blue, but if people don’t read the particulars, they probably won’t care to notice the differences.

Posters aren’t ‘immune’ to actions, but those that have been here for awhile tend to know and honor the forums rules, so they’re less likely to have action taken against them.

There’s this magical difference between pragmatic experience, and boogie-man stories people spout because they don’t want to know better. If posters wanted the alleged ‘private chat’ they can just do so on discord.

There are discord communities that are more active than these forums since discords make for better casual conversations than an ‘official’ forum.

If reports were weaponized as people claim, you’d see more bot-like alt accounts mass reporting things, especially at the behest of the “hive mind” rants that are tossed around by people that don’t make the distinction between various forms of conversation.

It’s much easier for people to demonize those that don’t agree with them, or rather, to only look for validation and bemoan anything that doesn’t look like it.

No, just every post of new accounts…which is most of the time the case. Most of their posts get removed; earlier this year I was starting on this forum, and everything I posted was mass reported and removed. I doubt those mass reporting stopped; I just hit the minimum post count to be immune to their troll reports of “Off-topic”. Just like they can be off-topic even in this thread, and be immune to reports.

You can probably troll badly enough/ do illegal stuff to get punished. I said the bulk, that means, the majority, of reports people experience, are automated. I don’t know if you’ve read more than those 2 sentences you quoted… and one of them is literally saying “pretty much immune”, not completely immune.

How exactly would one see that? Do you get announced every time someone reports you, because I don’t. I used to just get a (likely fake) notification that someone will be looking at my comment, because I’ve been reported (likely multiple times); that decision never went my way (even when I was reported for being “off topic” while being on topic).

Also nice gaslighting

but those that have been here for awhile tend to know and honor the forums rules, so they’re less likely to have action taken against them

under a trolling post that won’t get removed.

Also, for anyone wondering; you need between 100 and 300 posts for your posts (that follow the forum rules) to not get auto-deleted when wrongly mass reported (as far as I remember)

Haha… well, time for another few years break from this forum lol. Just like HotS. In hopes that when I come back in a few more years the game would be in a better shape. But, I doubt that. Chances are forum and game will be dead-er, and I’ll still see the same gang of people in here

By the look of your posts you did not come to have a mature conversation anyway. But you got mad when your former account name got flagged by other players which itself is not something any rational human would call himself. Only people who call themself such name are teenage boys.

Understandable. The game’s more of a nostalgia mine for me. I’ve made some good friends on the game, that live on a different continent, and we haven’t quite found a game to all enjoy due to various reasons, like the skill floor to actually enjoy playing the game or the minimum time for a gaming session. It would be nice if micro fixed the game, but, I guess, it wouldn’t live forever without new content anyway.

Maybe if it dies, a fan-made version will carry the torch (eventually the ROTS guys will maybe make their own engine and servers).

Might appears so but I think he would like to just separate both topics which might be a bit annoying for him since he felt compelled to create this tread.

Well the forums is an empty place indeed. On a side note I feel that even if the game is dead, this compels less people to interact in the forums, that only the fans of the game would do so, and to add to that with just the Janitor around, we don’t even know where he would take feedback from which the only places it would be from the game data itself or here. so that in a sense I feel why this happens.

It’s not gaslighting. I’d be nice if you’d bother to actually read things through.

Posts of ‘forum regulars’ would disappear and leave potentially odd gaps in a topic.

Topics would have erratic numbering, though that’s harder to notice if people don’t know how to the forum displays the numbering of posts in a topic.

Posters that can post links and pictures wouldn’t be able to post them anymore.

Enough flags lead to sanctions, and that could lead to bans. While people could appeal false-flags to get posts returned, considering how ‘dead’ the game/forums are, if people encounter enough resistance to posting, they’ll probably stop altogether.

It doesn’t take some spam-posting to pull this off. They’d just need to find a topic with an estimated read time over 10 minutes, and scroll through the topic slow-enough that the little “unread” blue dots disappear.

Blizzard is using “Discourse” for their forums instead of their own architecture. Posters have a ‘trust’ level that limits functionality for new users.

“Trust Level 0” posts might not need moderator approval compared to high trust levels, but that’s probably the closest to “Immunity” that you’re claiming. Trust 0 takes ~ 10 minutes of “read time” to get past.

If you don’t want to read the linked guide, you could search “Discourse trust levels” yourself, but the exact details can be changed by “Trust level 5” users, ie blizzard as some of the functions in other Discourse communities are not enabled here.
