Sorry, yes. I was thinking SC2 but you are correct.
Why is language such a big thing anyways ?
We already have plenty of tools to help us communicate
Im going there : ping that youāre going there .
Its dangerous: ping its dangerous.
I think we should leave : V
Dude dont 1v5 them ! : V V V V V V
You are the tank why are you laning during objectives and team fights !?!? : non stop pinging on the player .
No words needed lol
they would be russians then, not americans.
Is it any different than getting a Spanish speaking or Portuguese speaking player?
After all, itās not their fault thereās one server group for an area with a dozen different languages.
Or should it merely be whoever is a minority in that game be reported?
Why should monolingual English speakers not be punished for their lack of language skills?
Oh, what about people with really bad grammar? Or 1337 speakers(or whatever the current trend is)?
Or, maybe, should that stick be pulled out of your rear and just let people play a video game without being punished for not being omnilingual?
This is nothing more than thinly veiled racism.
Itās a pointless question perhaps in terms of whether it should be reportable.
How did language become a race suddenly? The most common languages- English, French, German, Spanish- are all languages that come from historically white countries- and wherever they ended up being common was due to colonization.
Realistically, as long as Blizz promotes this as a team game, they should be separating players by language so that it can actually be a team game.
And on the flip side- considering reporting people results in automated bans- technically OP, yes, since virtually anything can be a reportable offense.
I propose that when someone complain that the report system is automated and they dont hire a guy to read report by report, we now give a link to this tread as response
I mean, reporting because talent or hero picks is bad, but reporting because the guy dont speak english? Like⦠for real?
See, pointless reports like that is why the automated system exists, nobody deserves to be forced to put up with that kind of stuff for a living and it just clogs the report box
Uh, you realize the automated reporting system is what makes what the OP is saying possible right?
People still use stuff like customer suport to ask dumb questions or make dumb demands, any sane manager will tell its just better and more pratical to just put a eletronic voice to filter the complaints that really matter, its pretty much consensus that the number of dumb calls makes it becomes necessity at some point
And my point is: people bring it on themselves with stuff like this. They justify it even if was not a direct consequence
nobody is forcing you to play.
there are 7000 languages in this world. just think about that for a second.
I would had been thinking between 200-400. Throughout the whole , but 7000 ?! Damn i was way off lol
So in the entirely of the Americas region if you are not a fluent English speaker you are not allowed to play this game? Same for all of Europe.
And in all of Asia, you can only play if you speak and read Chinese fluently.
At that point, whatās the point of even having other language support?
As a matter of fact, whoās forcing you to play? Given you have issues with people speaking other languages.
And what, a dozen supported by the game? Separate by those. Thereās enough Spanish players that they donāt have to play with German players.
If this wasnāt a team game, it might be a different story- but you canāt pretend that competitive mode is competitive if you have teams that literally are incapable of understanding players on the same team.
I discourage this kind of questions. I think you should know the difference between what is right and what is wrong.
what game are u playing? with ques longer than 5 minutes, you say there are enough players, further more divide them by language and u will wait 1 day in the que!
i dont have issues. i report them, and hope they get suspended/silenced.
I have queues in the seconds for most modes, maybe 5min for HL which is quickly becoming the least popular mode- but also the mode you need communication the most for.
Separate by languages wonāt change queue times by very much, itād also be common sense.
