Something you'll probably disagree with

Ai players are the god damn backbone of this game.

There are so many of us. and you wouldn’t ever know because the elitest unflattering name will never acknowledge us. and their attitude will forever sicken the life out of me.
I’m not saying we’re better than you (but seriously pick up your game PvPer i’m starting to question this statement) But at the very least you should acknowledge our god damn presence.
Why?
Because I am living proof that Ai players aren’t terrible, and how bloody dare you assume that we worse than you.

I’ve seen more stupider PvPers than Ai players and my dear I don’t say that lightly, I’ve played all modes except for unranked.
“You’re probably the bad player” hm yes lets see how many variations I see of this, prove that an AI player can read you like a god damn book.

I fail to see how vs AI is entertaining in a MOBA, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it has more players than ranked.

Isn’t ARAM the most popular mode? They would technically be the backbone if anything.

Let’s just agree that everyone is important, because all the modes need a decent playerbase in order to function. If any of the major modes (ARAM, Quickmatch, Ranked, AI) die then that is going to hurt all of the other modes in the long run.

Usually the case with any game that has both PvP and PvE. Often there are always ‘sects’ in a playerbase based on game modes.

Personally I get more flak from the occasional LoL player that drops by to make nuisances of themselves. The last time I had someone try and strut around that they were in ranked they got bodied by adept A.I a long time ago. Also get more heat from people that think that just because they picked Elite A.I means that they are good and can look down on people that choose lower difficulties. I’ve not really encountered it here that much except from individuals that seem to be out looking to be a problem.

On here, there really is not an incentive for A.I players to interact with others in regards to the game. I’ve come away with tips and tricks which I applied to bots, and some information on icy-veins and even on here is not applicable to A.I.

Losing the vs A.I crowd would definitely hurt the game. Especially as a lot of us get experience pots and/or farm for levels as well as partaking in the PvP side of the game. On the flip side losing any of the PvP game modes could harm not just the other PvP modes but also vs A.I, so it could go either way.

It’s either Quick Match or ARAM. There is however the issue in that there is no means of tracking the vs A.I games at all.

In my neck of the woods depending on the day I can do 10-20 A.I matches a day or more and not wait more than thirty seconds for the next one. Sometimes I no more than click the queue button and I get in. Longest I have ever had to wait is maybe five minutes. Though there are certain times of the day I cannot get a match at all, but those are either before the sun rises or around midnight.

When I run numbers of HP, QM ends up having more activity.

Granted, various patches also put SL over ARAM, so it’s likely a matter of availability rather than true sampling since the records on HP is based on users uploading them – SL should be significantly lower in actual activity compared to ARAM.

However, due to the speed of matches, it takes a smaller playerbase to cycle through games, so it could genuinely have fewer active players to maintain the lower queue, esp since it can disregard mmr for getting games. There’s also regional bias in HP’s numbers, but all of that doesn’t help indicate how many do play in AI or custom lobbies.

Additionally, ai games don’t require 10 players, or… any player since a player can just spectate ai games.

The type of player that only plays ARAM is not the same type that would go to the trouble of setting up auto-uploads of their replays to HP.

I only play ARAM, only because I feel QM you run into stacks way too often.

Yup. It’s not fun, and there’s hardly any reason to play an unfun mode.

Yeah people need crutches in life. But gaming is supposed to be fun, so only mildly embarrassing to play that way, no biggie

For a second I thought you meant the AI teammates you get when someone disconnects. I mostly just use AI matches when I’m just starting on a character and need to get a feel for how their abilities work.

I know I did a fair bit of AI matches in Deadlock but that’s mostly because I got intimidated by the item system and didn’t know the macro well enough to feel confident hopping into matches. It was alright, but I feel the sentiment.

Playing against A.I is similar to just strolling around Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to take in the sights, playing a shooter on a lower difficulty, watching golf, fishing, or doing some other hobby that is enjoyable but not getting the brain to fire off on full cylinders.
