So the use of profanity is against the rules right...?

I love the “patronizing” part.

Its more or less “dont you dare to say to that 0-9 potato to stop feeding and to play carefully because its against the CoC and we will ban you.”

Wait what giving advice is legitimately reportable?

I rarely even give advice cuz of how butthurt some people get cuz of it but when I do I try and phrase it as nicely as possible…

That’s messed up man.

Yeah, good rules and some guy in a thread is worried about “hate speech”, it seems any speech could get you silenced.

Doesn’t apply to the forums, which are not included in the rating.

I can’t say much about the HotS moderation style, frankly, most of the HotS playerbase that posts here is at least somewhat reasonable.

Want to see Blizzard fail at moderation? Visit the Starcraft 2 forums. Mentally ill children constantly insulting one another and trolling, to the point where the GMs don’t care anymore, they just ban people because they don’t like what you said, even if it doesn’t violate the ToS or the EULA.

Or how about we talk about how some moderators were banning people for wanting a refund for reforged, as it had false advertising and, potentially a bigger issue, literally removed features from the original game while making said original unplayable (that’s lawsuit territory).

Or we can talk about the D3 foums during JW’s reign of terror

Or the absolute horror stories about WoW GMs from Brazil, trying to blackmail and extort other people, only to be shut down on the forums when complaining about a clearly bad apple.

My point is, while Blizzard has some serious, serious problems with hiring bad apples for these kinds of positions, HotS seemingly has been spared.

I’d go as far as to say they’re just normal people who are professionals - and as such, we get professional moderation here, usually.
