Should QM get MM like ARAM?

I was reading this post and this was quote from Spazzo on reddit.

And my thoughts were. Why don’t we do this for QM? Half the games aren’t very good anyway so why not make the matching quicker. I’d still have it match roles as a priority but I wouldn’t mind if it relaxed the MM quicker.

What would be the difference between both systems?

I’m having 15-30 second wait times, and they’re relatively balanced.
Far from perfect though and in some sense it’s already clown fiesta.
I wouldn’t want to make it worse.

I do a lot of inspections and maybe QM * 0.05 = SL match count.
(I don’t want to say 0.01 but I could note the numbers if anyone so desires. There are people with thousands of seasonal matches and normally 0, occasionally 5-10 SL matches. In 5 matches today I had a single person who played 380 SL out of 770 games.)

Don’t mess it up, pretty please.

If your getting that small of queue times it wouldn’t make a difference to you.

aram has no mmr tho

Kind of awkward discussion, as ARAM has no MM while Quick Match does…

A user in that topic (Narha?) also messaged the data miner and he said it was just his personal opinion. Not something mined out of the client

You could get literally anyone as a teammate in ARAM after a 4 second wait. You could get Fan or you could get a Bronze 5. Or during long wait times, a robot (AI).

IKR, but apparently many people are convinced it does.

But what about this information provided by lucifer and Spazzo?

That was strictly their opinion. There was no evidence to support it.

Basically speculation based on their perspective, same thing as saying elo hell is real, they brought their point of view but it doesn’t count as actual proof of mm in aram, not to mention blizzard has no point hiding the existance of aram mmr, u can have very mixxed teams of skkill levels in aram.

I see this in QM and SL as well though. My SL matches are totally unbalanced. Either I get hard trolls or feeder or I get decent player. In that case I don’t really trust SL. Maybe my hidden mmr is too high, but my teammates usually plays way worse than enemys and tend to feed 6+.

There’s much skill variation in bronze-middle plat so that’s why you feel it. I know that too very well. Boosted literal bronze players who first pick butcher, tryhard smurfs with 70% wr, guys tilted after 2-3 losses, can really find anything. Storm league has its own problems but you can still rank up. 30% unwinnable games and 30% garanteed wins. WInrate variation will be between 30% to 70%. as soft stuck middle plat I won’t lie about it, besides some guys who are trying to rank up I don’t see much difference between high bronze and low gold. Kinda sad but that’s how things currently are.

Disagree. I claim that it’s quite the opposite that the skill gap between those ranks is rather low and that’s why I see players who are rank-technically higher than me but far worse, because there is almost no gap. I really would like to see games, where I am the lowest and would adapt and heal or tank, but the weird thing is that most of the game that is simply not the case. Most players don’t matter if bronze or gold are equally strong and you can see it on their winrate and kda, usally around 40-50% winrate and 3.0 KDA. Few players are above.

Most matches has kill difference around 5 to 20 or vice versa.

Not to be rude, but I think you are overestimating your skill. I have played against you in one of the forum tournaments, and reviewed one of your replays at your request, and I can’t honestly say that you are ranked lower than you should be. In addition, while some bad plays are obvious, I am not sure you are evaluating other people’s play appropriately, either. I would suggest you focus on areas where you can improve, rather than worrying about other people’s play and rank.

What Spazzo said is only his own theories. Pure speculation.

And Lucifer’s is simply “I have a high winrate on a smurf in ARAM, therefore = matchmaking”

Which doesn’t really prove anything.

I didn’t know ARAM had MM…ait that a kick in the teeth lol.

I’d like to admit really, but I can’t. I don’t say I am master or sth, but what I see around my rank it’s not really much better than myself, usually worse. You can believe or not, but I tell you what I see and what I experience.

And I can tell you what I have seen and experienced of your play. You do well when someone tells you where to go and what to do, but you seem to be indecisive when you have to make a quick choice. You were dying a bit too much as Cassia by not watching for rotations, or diving in with Fend in bad situations. I can post clips from the replay you sent me for examples, if you wish.

I am not saying you are a bad player, you aren’t, but I wouldn’t put you above average.

Granted, I am merely average myself, but I do watch my replays to see what I can do better, rather than always blaming team mates for my losses.

As Cassia yes and as Mei? You have to consider I am a bruiser/tank main and assassines are my weakest role. So it’s kinda obvious that I wasn’t good as Cassia. Not to mention you saw only two games with me.

I was also referring to the replay you sent me where you were playing Hogger. I can’t really comment on the Mei match as I was mostly in the offlane on Braxis, and to be fair, you were tanking against a Bronze 5 opposing tank, so I would hope you would win that matchup.

The comments on Cassia weren’t about your mechanics so much as your decision making.
