Should I get back into HotS?

Been quite a while since I’ve played last.

Should I get back into it? I’ve seen occasional patches so I have hope that things have somewhat changed for the better.

The game play and hero balance feels pretty good overall, but do note that the playerbase is still … yeah.

I enjoy it, and would recommend it if you aren’t easily tilted by other people being weird, or if you have friends you can queue with.

Good to know, my friends all left for other games at the start of covid and I stopped around december 2022 myself

Sometimes I get the itch and other MOBAs just aren’t as interesting, especially as a Vikings player

Maybe I’ll try finding a discord or sommat

I take every now and then breaks from it and move on to different games, my current fixation is Deadlock (DotA with guns but 20th century). HotS is still fun, with or without friends.

Sounds cool! Not sure if I said but I had a kick with Titanfall right towards the end of my posting history, so sounds cool. Besides, it’s got the TF2 voice actors right?

There have been several nice changes since then, with buffs to a number of heroes including Thrall and Chen. I haven’t played with the Arthas changes yet, but those look pretty tasty, too.

^^ everything here is spot on. I so enjoy the game but is quite tilting sometimes. I was actually in Korea recently and had my gaming laptop (for other reasons) so decided to jump on their servers and it was great.

So if you’re in a more populated area (and don’t run into the few trolls and smurf stacks) it is still a very enjoyable game.

You should not. The players that are left in the games are actually terrible. Either entitled selfish egoists or players with level 1000+ accounts that cannot play.

The game is still alive. It maybe in maintenance mode, but it still draws in new players. Not like it used to, but there is a trickle.

Perhaps one day it will get a revival or a sequel.

If anything you can all ways just play for fun and for quick burst.

This is what a couple pals of mine and myself are doin… just casually chillin in Vs AI Matches for relaxation and casual fun. :slight_smile:

I will say one positive of this game is that you can get everything in it by just playing. It is a game you can enjoy entirely for free.

I’ve been casually playing, off and on, since Alpha. Mostly quick match. Despite all the heroes I don’t like, or agree with them adding before other more important heroes, I still find this game just as enjoyable as when it first came out. Beats all other MOBAs I have played and leaves me with that nag to play another and win!

It’s easily better than Extreme Candy War 2004, Orcs vs Humans, Defense of the Ancients, Hands of Sorrow Knight and League of knock-off of all those WC3 maps.

If only thou ready to seek a team. Solo - play is much worse, the MM is still destroyed.
