Salt Mines - Deposit all your anger here!

I am so salty
I had another plot bunny whack me over the head and another possible trilogy idea for a book
It’s driving me nuts this one cus it hit me almost out of literal nowhere just by hearing that damn phrase “subvert expectations” and a desire to “show how it’s done” to a certain someone if you’re familiar with Star Wars you know how hated that phrase is

yes I’m putting this i the Salt Mines, this is bad, I have too many idea’s already :stuck_out_tongue:

I knew it all along, you’re Rian Johnson!

Kind of?
What is Revence?

I never watched anyhing of his and to be honest I did not even watch last jedi,
I had made a point after being mildly dissapointed in the Force Awakens i said “if they don’t show Rey at her lowest by the end of this film, utterly break the character in some way I am giving up” I ahd no patience for mary sue non sense, I got enough fo thtat out of Thrall in Warcraft I didn’t need that crap

And when I found out no they didn’t well… everything else was just bonus crap

They kind of do? It’s hard to explain. Basically, Last Jedi tries to sort of be an Empire Strikes Back for the sequel trilogy - a dark middle chapter where the heroes try their hardest yet still fall short. Han was frozen in carbonite, Luke failed to convert Vader to the light, so on and so forth. Point is, you feel a lot of tangible loss from the start of this movie to the end.

But in TLJ, bad things happen, but you don’t really feel them. A lot of the character losses (temporary or permanent) in that movie are either faceless Resistance grunts we don’t know, or Holdo, who was introduced this movie and honestly isn’t really that likeable so you don’t form much bond with her anyways. You get to the end of the movie, with the characters remarking “This is all that’s left of the resistance” but it doesn’t really feel that bad. The one seemingly meaningful characater death turned out to be a fake-out as well, which was just unsatisfying.

Probably the biggest example of drawbacks not really being felt comes with Rey herself. She finds out that her parents really were nobodies who just sold her to save their own skin (rise of skywalker notwithstanding :skull:) after failing to convert Kylo to the light, and you get the impression that it’s supposed to crush her. But the scene is over relatively quickly after the fact, and her general disposition doesn’t seem to change in any of her following scenes.

There’s other stuff that brings the movie down as well, though this post is mostly about the movie’s tone. It’s almost as if the filmmakers WANTED to make a dark & oppressive middle chapter, but Disney stepped in and said “No no no, we can’t have it look TOO bad for our heroes! That’s uninspiring and hurts us at the box office!”

It was not just disney’s meddling that stopped it from being that dark, it’s pretty clear Ruin Johnson wanted it all to sink, Disney Exec’s did not say “here throw out literally every plot hook created in the first part of this trilogy” and left

Even still the best that can be said is… she finds out she has no legacy even after spending 2 movies building her own badass one and failed to bring a villain who proved to be a non-threat in the first film anyway since she already beat him. Those are the only failings that character got in TLJ and even if executed well they were minor and not even close to what it would take to have me feel it was redeemed from the “Hi I’m going to break all the rules established in Star Wars lord about learning powers cus gurl powa!” That is Rey in Force Awakens

And then with all those plot hooks just nuked even a good writer would struggle to piece something together for a final part of a trilogy… and instead of a good writer we got Jar Jar abrams back for volume 2 of Generic fluff that’s only held aloft by fan service

Yes I am going to rant about this we are in the Salt Mines damnit and I could rant about those films so so much
Especially since there is actually a bloody answer to Rey’s whole power non sense that exists in the EU, literally all they had to do was give her the Revan mind wipe treatment and be done with it.

Butcher only players of SL. I don’t care if you have a good Win Rate with him. I hate you all with passion

He’s good in stacks, bad in solo SL.

But I agree, I have a 58 WR with butch, but I dont pick him in SL, cause I know as a solo player in SL, no one wants to help butch

i don’t play sl, but in aram and qm, i am all about setting up that butcher

People who diss someone then leave ASAP so they can get the last word…

Cowardly people and I know they are cowards in real life.

Even these Salt Mines have rather dried up since the Hots full maintenance announcement.

Losing Darak because he was personally abused also didn’t help. That’s my portion of salt for the day.

Am I crazy to think this?

In ARAM, our Deckard hasn’t died but the other team is snowballing us about 4 minutes into the game.

Deckard is on low mana ALL game, I mean less than 5% always, even when the fountain is ready, he gets it but still gets to low mana rapidly and he cannot produce enough pots. Since the other team is smashing us, we couldn’t get minion globes either. Thus, we can’t heal as he’s not producing enough pots.

I said “sometimes as Deck, it’s best to die to get full mana than to keep waiting every 10 seconds for just 1 pot for the team”

It didn’t help Deck was using his other abilities as a priority other than pots.

Our team was dying and while we were equal to the other team in terms of CC and damage, we just couldn’t heal.

yea thats why i abuse those sort of morons… they destroy the game whit that gameplay - 0 brain and the worst is that they are the same in real life

I will always assume in ARAM that a player is either new or unfamiliar with a hero until proven otherwise. If your team was taking too much unnecessary damage, or you had players picking up his potions on 90% health preventing those on 50% health grabbing them, that would also put a ton of tension on his mana without it necessary being Cain’s fault.

In ARAM when playing Cain, I usually take Cube Mastery, as it means more seals and almost halves the mana cost of seals. As for dying to get mana in ARAM, yes it’s sometimes worth it. Many players just won’t think of this as in other modes dying often means a high price.

It is funny though, I have noticed a tendency for some players to be far more cautious in ARAM where the punishment for death is far more gentle than those players in QM who suicide 1v5 at level 20 right before a game winning objective is about to pop!

Afk Yrel, Afk Aba and enemy team is a 5 stack that spam sprays casue yes that is what people who plays in premades do. Mock enemy teams who has nothing to play with and then think they are great meanwhile half of them are hard stuck bronze 3 players that cant win without matchmaker helping them get a half afk team to win againts.

Man, I don’t understand what just happened in my last game. My team ignored EVERY single objective. Azmodan, Diablo and Artanis were all in bot lane, while me and the healer had so soak. And I can’t stop a Zagara solo.

Even when there was a boss walking in our bot keep, my team went mid…I pinged it and everything. They ignored it. Our mid fort is getting destroyed by minions? They go for a merc camp… Total free win for the enemy.
