Now first pick Tracer. How does this keep happening?
Also Arthas because reasons.
I had a wow interaction that trumps all that I experienced on hots
there’s this one notorious rare mob which takes ages to force spawn by performing a certain monotonous action and sometimes it can literally take forever for it to appear
so, three of us have been doing this for quite some time, the group is listed in the finder and no more players are interested in joining after repeat calls in chat
meanwhile an eternity had passed, it pops and leader’s addon announces it, suddenly half of zone wants us to wait for them, with some randoms around I tag it and I get removed/phased out momentarily
after a brief confusion on my side, he’s shocked that I wished painful death by cancer on him, in the end who did we spend our time farming for? ourselves or some random freeloaders who would benefit from our work?
Ouch, I don’t mind double healer comps, they can work sometimes. If that had been a Rehgar pick, or maybe Kara I could see it working. Should I even ask the results of that match Phase?
I’ve not touched SL since my decision not to play it over a month ago. It’s kinda sad, I’ve played so little of Hots and don’t really miss it, mostly due to kind of selfish players you highlight in your posts here Phase. Hots attracted me be because it was so team focused, but that is also the reason why it sometimes can be such a miserable experience, trolls ruin everything.
I don’t quite follow your post, it sounds like it’s not about Hots?
Breaks are healthy.
I couldn’t eat cinnamon rice pudding every day however much I love it.
By the way, playing some VS AI with friends (random / bad hero for challenge if you are too good) can be a perfect fix.
It’s about WoW. He says at the beginning of his post, but it sounds like he had an wow (amazing, surprised) experience, not a WoW (world of warcraft) one I had to read again to understand.
Same tbh. I just open it once or twice every week and play a couple games. Sometimes 1 game is enough.
as I said, WoW related interaction
NP, I misread it exactly as Darak also did as WoW was written in lowercase.
Double healer isn’t always bad, but on Braxis? Usually you’d do that with a hypercarry. But that concept doesn’t exist in solo queue. And we didn’t have a solo so it was a disaster. Easy win for the opponent. Gul Dan insisted on soloing top. Then Lili felt he needed help against Leo so went top too, then Malfurion went top as well for some reason…
I wish I had games like the opponents did in SL. They didn’t lose a single structure, while my team mates were busy typing at each other.
I on the other hand can eat lasagna every day (Did it 9 days and I was happy)
Even then super risky.
It has certain merit, but it still doesn’t deliver invulnerability yet it reduces your threat.
Which was the actual intention, sadly.
What your team did sounds funny. 2+3 split can be okay, Li Li feeding health and thus mana to Gul’dan, who can push forever, either trading for your slow fail with the 3, or forcing the opponent to react. Beginning with the Malf rotation it doesn’t make sense to me.
During 2 days I have a losestreak no matter what mod I played (mostly SL).
Today I played and lost 2 games in SL because:
- Garrosh was inpatient and went in when there was no follow up
- Muradin left the game
In both games I was playing Anduin and I am very angry my skill didn’t change anything.
Oh, no, no, no for Braxis for double heal, especially solo queue. I couldn’t see from your screencap what map it was, but yeah, that would have been a tough match with the Li Li pick making it a huge uphill battle on Braxis.
As is my usual problem, I didn’t really make myself clear. I’ve always taken breaks from Hots, you’re correct, it’s healthy and just pretty normal to be bored of any one thing.
I was more speaking about Ranked, I’ve given up on playing it and I can’t see myself returning. I’ve loved ranked play since the very first preseason, but with the playerbase bleed and how SL allows for players to group 2 ranks apart, I often can’t tell the difference in quality between a SL game and a QM. The difference is I don’t have to queue for 5 minutes for a QM and can play whatever hero I choose.
I had a bad enough losing streak I dropped into Bronze 5 from Silver 4 while back but finally climbed back up.
Silver 4 with about 7 or 8 wins over losses. Trying to take it easy on playing lately though because I’m too easily annoyed when a person makes a nonsensical draft that either isn’t good for the map or the composition and acts like other people on the team are the problem when they only play two, maybe three heroes regularly. Also if I don’t tank, the person who does will dive the back and protect no one.
May Sacred 2, Divinity Original Sin 2 and Morrowind help me relax, in-between.
these are interesting opinions, ones I (and I hope other people) vehemently disagree with. Why these opinions?
Not really sure why Arthas gets a bad rap, he’s perfectly fine if the player knows what they are doing with him. Hell, with Death Coil build he’s one of the best in terms of raw survivability, and slow/attack speed is almost always a good thing.
My games are often cyclical, one day I win like, 85% of the games I play, the other day I lose every single match
K, let’s take these points seperately.
Arthas, is a no mobility tank with a bad engage. Usually, a low or no mobility tank will get a good ability to engage in exchange for being immobile, like Stitches Hook or Garrosh throw, which more often than not end up in a kill. Arthas doesn’t get that. All Arthas has is howling blast. A slow skill shot. Most of the time, he has to try and just walk up to you. And displacement absolutely destroys him.
-
Another problem is that it’s both his engage and his peel. So if you get focused, Arthas can’t do anything for you, since he used it to engage. If he doesn’t engage you’re no better off. You don’t want your tank to have his engage and peel be the same ability, on top of being a skill shot.
-
Find a tank that provides less value than Arthas…If you check stats, they confirm this. He’s at the bottom. He wins less than every other tank.
If you know what you’re doing with Arthas, you will perform worse than if you know what you’re doing with any other tank.
Other tanks have the sustain they need without being forced to talent into anything. Hell, ETC’s E heals more than Arthas’ Q. No talents no nothing. Same cooldown. And every time he uses it, he gains 20 armor! It’s not even a contest. And he still has an AoE stun, plus peel, plus Mosh pit.
Also, Arthas cannot be the best, or even one of the best in survivability, because he has no means of escape. He will die more.
If you look at the comp in the picture, the only enemy that could be affecte by Arthas E is Tychus. But it doesn’t matter, because when he activates minigun, his AA speed is still high enough to shred Arthas. especially if he pick “The bigger they are”. Valeera still bursts by comboing him, she doesn’t rely on AA for damage, and she only really needs to stun him and walk away, and Sonya’s damage is mostly ability damage, though she won’t be facing him much. So, no value there. Also, none of the range dps heroes ever need to be in E range. So the number of characters he actually bothers is pretty small. And they are not played much (Illidan).
I would only play Arthas if I don’t care about winning.
Samuro:
Tends to thrive in QM. I specifically have 34.78% winrate against him.
The clones are always up, pushing, and without a healer to back us up, and his clones eating the damage, blocking every skillshot, and him not being targetable by AA either, it adds up nicely. Plus the ults.
Abathur:
I just don’t like how he makes any okay hero invincible. Adds damage himself and also attack speed, provides healing and shields. On heroes that barely need it.
Alternatively, his mine build deletes any tank, or the toxic nest does a lot of damage and takes several rounds of abilities to clear up.
Heroes like Illidan, Qhira, Artanis (well) or Samuro might be okay or even weak without him, and turn into absolute monsters with him. And if the target dies anyway? He can move on to the next, unlike Gall.
Orphea:
She can be okay but again, without a healer… I noticed she has 75% of Samuro’s health, for example. And Samuro has clones. Sure, she has self-heals. And shields. So if you make it to 13, go Chomp build, and aren’t 3 levels behind, you’ll delete everyone. However, there is potential for all that being backwards. I have lifetime 58% still but she is one of my weaker heroes this season (or should I say average). I find her to be too much all-in, personally. She is a little better in SL.
I experienced things like that often in chat that usually the guy who complains about others is usually the weakest link in the team.
Wasn’t there a thread or post regarding how 4 stack are toxic?
Well just encountered a 4 stack in QM in my team.
Long story short, garden of terror, they were doing their own thing on the map, all 4 grouped, not going to objective, and because I was taking camps and such… they all started to be passive aggressive and salty on how I play and I wasn’t sticking with them, even though the enemy kept getting the seed.
I was like… wtf… all 4 of them are ganging up on me for no damn reason. They’re not even going to the objective, nor trying to get the seed. Mind you, the enemy got the first 4 seeds, they took out 4 of our forts while I try to defend. While the 4 stack, again doing their own thing, they were defending, but once the terrors ended, they went back to sticking as 4, not even soaking in all 3 lanes, I was soaking a lane.
Yes, I did join them when it’s warranted, such as group fights and so on, but 2 lanes kept being open and I was the one trying to even out the exp as the other 2 enemies were soaking those two lanes.
Well, we lost, game ended, they blamed me for the lost, more profanities, more slurs, etc…
Hovered over their name… a 4 stack. That explains alot… They all bask in each other’s body odour, they forget how much they stink.
So sad
I had a 4 stack once who just stayed as 4 (medivh in raven form) dying in fights while I tried to clear lanes and I got ganked a few times by a roaming Butcher/Garrosh. At the end they said “if you’re going to talk, at least be good”.
It’s sad huh. They are tough in a group cause they know their teammates will back them up and you’re pushed to the corner even though you’re the one with common sense.
Bet you any money the tables are turned when they play solo.
He also private messaged me after the game laughing at my WR and im like “do you mostly play stack?” he said: “i only play in groups” and im like “well, that’s why you stats are high because stacks in QM has a higher WR than solo players” and he’s like “no it’s not”
Hard to argue with stupid with logic and statistically true data. (ironically, we lost)
When they message you after it just confirms you either got to them… or they know they’re wrong and just want to throw shade to cover it.
