I would like to propose something that I hope can get some traction. I am not aware of any repercussions that happen when a player is reported, but as I have been getting matched with nothing but trolls, who decide to intentionally die, go AFK, or just ignore objectives, i think there should be something that happens if your teammates report you.
My idea is that when you get unanimously reported by your team that you should be placed in the “Leaver Que” for a match or 2. We have to make the reporting system mean something to inspire people to play correctly. This is a team game so good sportsmanship should be rewarded and bad should be punished. I am losing way too much because of my teammates.
I just got out of a match with an idiot who had more deaths than anyone on the field, spending most of his time in the game in graveyard, who then attempted to talk trash to the rest of the team. He’s a bad player, and acts like a jerk about being a bad player.
Here’s the thing, though: playing badly, and then being a dick about it, isn’t a reportable offense. While I can mute said terrible player, that’s pretty much all anyone can do.
That would be abused by premades and would be easily abused in games in general. I’ve seen ranked games where someone took a hero (not as a troll pick) that people didn’t like and they got scapegoated. I’ve seen people scapegoated unfairly for many things, I don’t want a feature like this.
Community policing isn’t great, unless the reports were not automated and there were repercussions to false reporting. As this isn’t the case I think it would be better to ask for an automated system that detects serial AFK and Intentionally dying.
This is pretty standard and it’s best just to report him for his trash talk and do not say anything back yourself as the feeder will just report you.
Cant do anything but report them. Players who act like keybord warrior kids in this game dont need anything but a report and a mute. Dont feed them with arguments or ask them to stop feeding cause that’s what trolls want you to tell them so they can report you for abuse chat and get you banned while they keep trolling.
How about f this reporting system finally and let people use the mute and block function instead???
Why do grown up people on the internet need a nanny that punishes players for something that others don’t like? If you don’t want to read chat, disable it. If someone speaks trash, mute him, if someone is annoying block him.
If Blizzard would have removed that crap of a mini game that reporting has become years ago, this game could have still been alive. But now everyone reports everyone for anything. Not liking the hero someone plays? Report. Saying that your are bad? Report…
If people would have been forced right from the start of the game to use the mute and block functions themselves, they might have learnt to play and concentrate on the match instead of reporting anyone that tells them they should stop dying 15 times a match!
That reporting system is a slap in the face of every adult. A gaming company literally preaching to players and trying to educate them how to behave. What the actual f.
i would like to see a response to my reports so i know if these players being reported are actually getting dealt with. An inbox message to say this player has now been muted or something in response to the report initiated would be good
All I want is the reporting system to give a notification that a user was banned due to my report (it doesn’t have to say who). Just like steam and other companies do. But maybe we already have the system implemented, it’s just no one gets banned.
Do people really think bad play is deserving of a report? Seriously guys get over yourself.
Bad sportsmanship is one thing. Bad mouthing ok. But bad playing? No dude. People are going to be new. They going to suck. Being bad at something when you first start is human nature. You happen to get unlucky and teamed up with someone new is part of life. Deal with it in a productive and rational way.
And that one kid had the nerve to tell me revenge reporting is blow out of proportion. ok bud.
This is a game forum. Why would someone say things that don’t pertain to the game at all?
If a crime is committed against me and I file a police report to the police department, I’d expect to know that they are actually doing something about it. Its not about boosting ego. Its about transparency.
