Report system experiment "incredible results"

Hi,

I made a experiments with y friends some months ago and I want to tell the results:

Obj: is true that blizzard do not ban troll players?
Period: 2 week per reason
Players: 5

Results:

  1. We made a team and we focusing one of us to report using “intentionally dying”, we played 40 games: No ban

  2. We made a team and we focusing one of us to report using “AFK”, we played 40 games: No ban

  3. We made a team and we focusing one of us to report using “Inappropriate name”, we played 40 games: No ban

  4. We made a team and we focusing one of us to report using “SPAM”, we played 40 games: No ban

  5. We made a team and we focusing one of us to report using “Abusing text”, we played only 25 games: he was banned

Conclusion:

Do not care if you find troll or bad players in game or other reason like that, they will never be banned, instead if you insult them for trolling you, you will banned when you cap 25 “abusing text” reports.

You are welcome to try this experiment too.

Regards!

So what you’re saying is that the only report feature which is automated is… automated?
Congrats on your findings I guess

Yeah I bet those surveys they do at the end of matches do something as well don’t they lmao. Honestly though I am not surprised with Abusive Text Chat being the only effective factor in this. But I think its sad that everything else is “probably” a deadweight — Freegame I guess, I mean P2W

I think I saw someone mentioning this, in a rant form, so not really coherent as yours.

Is it really? I knew the automated part, but didn’t know that was the only part that was automated.

Blizz’s lack of enforcement on feeders/trollers is hurting the game (I have one specific case of how it is, but not gonna share it now as I don’t know how Blizz will take it), but that seems very abuse-able (abusing text part being automated and being quite strict because of it).

I would take anything the OP says with a grain of salt, the penalty for abusive chat reports is a silence not a ban (unless the account in question is a repeat offender)

But yes the abusive chat reports are automated, this isn’t really news and is something lots of people have complained about at lengths on these very forums.
Reality is just that hots isn’t profitable enough for them to be able to comb through every single report they get.

Finally got a number :stuck_out_tongue:

Also I managed to get my “Inappropriate name” banned after I spammed General chat and my games to request they report me so I got a free name change.

Even if it was it would be hard to justify an INTing or even AFK report (a bit of a stretch but making a point) because they could just be a bad player. I don’t agree and think that some Reports of abuse could be solved if the players turn on mature language filter and INTing/AFKing is worse.

It’s been well known for a long time that the threshold to reach a punishment for anything other than abusive chat is high. My question to you is, did the AFK/Int reports prompt an email? Not even with chat abuse are people ban on the first offense, the same goes with all other areas of the reports system.

I have never had any emails for abuse chat reports other then those few I got myself when I got silence by 4 man trolls.

For afk and feed reports I had 25 emails so far that I got every week for 6 months before it all stopped again.

Not had any email now for 8 months now. Also those emails I got were the first 25 I got in 6 years.

Automated doesn’t have to mean inefficient and unsatisfactory.

I believe you haven’t received any emails for abusive chat reports. The OP specifically said that the AFK/Int reports resulted in “no bans.” As players are not banned on their first offense, I want to clarify if he received emails about those issues.

It doesn’t. If though it’s punishing offensive chat for far fewer reports than game griefers, then it wouldn’t be a satisfactory system IMO.

Was he in-game banned as in silenced? Or banned from playing?

That’s what I want to know. If it was the account’s first offense then it’s only a silence, not even a suspension.

banned is not same as silence, so he got 1 week ban of game. Also mention, he did not write on the chat maybe is the reason why he never got a silenced suspension.

So he was suspended, what for exactly? The reports you made for chat abuse?
