Remove "Like" Limits

Removing downvotes was annoying enough, but this is Xanth ogre levels of stupidity.

There is absolutely no good reason to restrict the number of likes people can give in a certain period of time. This is user unfriendly and discourages positive feedback by disallowing it after a certain point. This forces people to be unnecessarily frugal with their upvotes.

I have neither the time, patience, or energy to respond with text to every single post that says something I support or disagree with. This is why downvotes were good for the forums, and this is why freely given upvotes are absolutely vital to these forums.

I don’t care if this was Discourse’s work. These are your forums, and you are responsible for them.

Remove this stupid limit.

I’d love to know what the actual limit is. Maybe it wouldn’t be as bad if I knew when it would happen without having to backtrace it. It’d still be dumb, but less annoying.

I hate how patronizing the warning is. “Thank you for showing so much support! You’ve only got a few likes left!” Yeah, thanks for having fun, but we think you’ve been having enough fun. It’s probably time to limit that fun.

50 per 24 hours.

The likes are returned based on the time they are used. For example, if you use a like at 8:00 AM today, it will be available for use again at 8:00 AM tomorrow.

…and this is the most stupid part of the entire system. It’s bad enough that we are limited to 50 “likes” per day, but to have each “like” on its own separate timer is mind boggling idiocy.

The restrictions on using the forum actually discourages me from using it at all.

Likes are intentionally limited to givea (albeit arbitrary) perceived value to likes.

You may cross a LOT of things you like.

Limiting you helps ensure you have to think about what you like the most.

I know it sucks. But until they remove or increase the limit, make sure you think over what you’re upvoting- and use them for particularly good posts.

i have this feeling that most ppl have not noticed the stats tracking in their profile yet. now you can see how liked you are

Can I at least opt in for a level 20 talent that increases my likes cooldown to 36 hours but returns them all at once?

On a more serious note I agree, if I’m going to have a limited supply why even have likes at all? Is there some type of reputation system in conjunction?
