Again, I fail to see an issue. Some people have fun in General Chat. It’s not hurting anybody. Why ruin something that literally doesn’t affect you?

General chat might a be a problem for new players coming in to check out the game. I always recommend to leave chat off for new players in NA.
What does Blizzard intend by having general chat? I’m sure it’s not so people can talk about the size of their nether regions. The only purpose I have seen gen chat serve, is for people to troll. Just remove it.

except I would argue that it is hurting blizzard. By creating a toxic environment that they are condoning. If people aren’t using chat for intended purpose why is it there?
There are people who troll games, should the ability to play games be removed?

no, it’s not. The game is still serving it’s intended purpose, the only thing general chat does, is for people to treat other people as garbage

This is a sweeping generalization fallacy. You’re assuming all players use General chat to troll.
People use the chat for it’s intended purpose too. If you aren’t in favor of also removing the ability to play matches because people have the ability to troll them, you’re being a hypocrite.

I left the chat for the same reasons you have, but it doesn’t bother me if its off. Out of sight, out of mind.
General chat needs to exist so the game doesn’t feel completely lonely. If there are people around, the game feels more social. Even if it is filled with nonsense. Reminds me of Barrens Chat.
Of course I’d prefer people would treat others with more respect, but I would never want the feature removed. “Better to feel pain than to not feel at all.”

well here is the thing, league doesn’t have gen chat, dota doesn’t have gen chat, cod doesn’t have gen chat. In fact I cant think of any game other than blizzard and MMORPG’s that have general chat. Dont feel lonely there
EDIT: if the chat needs to be there so people dont feel lonely, then why are you advocating leaving it? Do you feel lonely?
I’m advocating to have options. Other people may like the channel’s existence (for whatever reason). It’s clear you don’t, yet you don’t turn it off. The option is there.
Leaving the channel essentially makes this game just like all the other games you mentioned. Problem solved?
It’s like complaining about an option to use a speed boat to get across a lake when you can choose to walk around. It’s pointless to complain about a feature that is optional.
If you continue with other arrangements, just means you want to complain/troll.

Giving an option to troll and grief is the problem. Get rid of it. Enabled trolling/grieifing/ hate speech is still tolling grieifing hatespeech. If blizzard cannot prevent rampant hatespeech and griefing on it’s platform, it has the obligation to remove it. WHETHER SOMEBODY ENJOYS IT OR NOT.
