Haven’t played HOTS in 5 years I got back into it and the General chat has not changed, same toxic environment it has always been. It has zero purpose… Have whoever is in charge of this game login for all of 2 minutes and they will see why.
It has always been a cesspool, you can type /leave General to leave it, or by right clicking the chat and leaving it.

The only chat/whispers that can’t be blocked is “Draft Chat”, in ranked modes, but even then I think you can leave the chat with the same method above. I’ve not tried it out myself, as draft chat is useful, even if you’re not typing anything yourself.
Why dont we remove free speech while we’re at it? If you thought the chat was bad wait until you see the players…Sheesh! Talk about a dying society

Yeah, just leave it if it bothers you, which it probably will. I personally like having it around as a sort of time capsule, displaying how crazy people can behave on the internet.

You dont get what this topic is all about. If you affraid that your free speech is taken from you cause someone wants to close down Gchat for good cause of how big of a dumbster place it is then im affraid you lost your way.

It wasn’t ‘free speech’ in the first place.
Even the UDHR poses limitations on expression. It’d be nice if mindless advocation for generalized declarations actually knew something about what they were trying to profess, especially since a number of people debated these sort of things for a number of reasons that are otherwise ignored by those not actually wanted to engage in genuine discussions.

Maybe you should actually seek to be as knowledgable as you claim by actually reading a thing or two on ‘freedom’ and ‘rights’ instead of being yet-another-voice that complaints out of ignorance and, oddly, end up resembling the very thing they fault.
Bigotry and false-patriotism are perpetuated by the intentionally ignorant: they claim to know better, but are actually afraid of information and discourse.

Most people don’t have a great deal of time for the pseudo philosophical debates that you’re indulging in, because there are indeed very real things people need to be afraid of. Many people are just too busy living life, that they don’t have the luxury of time that you seem to have, to indulge themselves in philosophical hypothetical debates. Sure, people should muse about this “stuff”, but not here.
You post topics of this nature here precisely because these forums are so small, your ramblings receive an undue amount of attention, you wouldn’t enjoy on larger and more active platforms.
Most of us just come here to share stuff about Hots, with a few exceptions, none of your copypasta relates to Hots at all, it has no place here. Why not go and share your wisdom with a wider audience, as it’s obvious your “out of the box” ideas are wasted here?

This really is not a good place to be spouting philosophy unless asked and while I have brought up Stoicism in the past, it has had some connection to the topic at hand and not a shot in the dark. At least my intention was to incorporate it and not come across as shoving it down people’s throats. Even then my writings could be a stretch as Minky mentioned people primarily come here to discuss HotS.
There are plenty of threads, websites, youtube videos, and other sections of the internet that concern philosophy. There is also books you can buy which since you like typing/writing/copying why not just get a journal and write that down for yourself?
